Many families in San Antonio reside in densely populated areas such as apartments or closely built homes. Therefore, they are more likely to be exposed to higher levels of RF (a Class 2B Carcinogen) from "banks" of meters all pulsing constantly. Additionally, there are many older homes with old wiring. Pedernales Electric (Comal County) and Austin Electric (Travis County), both allow residents to have an analog meter. They also charge for the opt-out, however, we believe that policy is in direct opposition to the Federal Energy Act which proposed OPT-IN technology, not OPT-OUT !
