HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Historical Society of Frederick County offers a variety of dynamic and engaging public programs that explore and celebrate the rich history of our county. The annual Lecture Series includes seven evening programs held from March through June and September through November. Unique educational programs such as Preservation Workshops and Genealogy Classes promote the study and preservation of family history. Working with the other members of the Frederick Historic Sites Consortium, the Society presents unique programs during Museums By Candlelight, held the second Saturday of December and Museum Discovery Weekend, held the first weekend in April. Special events and offerings, such as bus trips, the Ice Cream Social and the Garden Party provide opportunities for fun and fellowship.
