HVCS

Hickory Valley Christian School was founded in 1980 as a ministry of Hickory Valley Christian Church. Mr. Lewis Alligood, a long-time member of the church with a passion for Christian education, formed a committee to create the school.The school had just 11 students in its first year, but with prayer and support it has grown considerably. Every year, our fifth graders are required to write and present an "Alligood Essay", in which they explain what HVCS has meant to them in their spiritual and academic growth. While our school and the church share facilities and enjoy a close working relationship we are two legally distinct institutions with our own 501c-3. HVCS Board has both school and church members, but the school is responsible for its own programs and operations.
