Adam Bierbaum

Adam Bierbaum has been farming for nine years on his family's century farm in Cass County where he grows corn and soybeans. Adam currently serves as the Chair for the Grassroots Network, Membership & Checkoff Committee. He is a former member of the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team (CAT), the Iowa Corn Leadership Enhancement and Development (I-LEAD), is active of the Cass County Corn Growers Board and serves as an Iowa Corn District 7 Board member. Adam has a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in agronomy. He also serves on the Wallace Foundation and is a member of Iowa Farm Bureau and the Iowa Soybean Association. His family's farming operation has practiced no-till farming for over 20 years where he works to incorporate the best environmental practices into his operation using cover crops and other conservation practices. Adam enjoys farming, spending time with his wife Megan and son Nathan.

Chad Harms

Chad Harms has been farming for 25 years in Obrien county where he raises corn and soybeans. Harms also started a trucking business that hauls seed, grain and feed ingredients covering a four-state area and was a former seed salesman for Dekalb and Asgrow. Chad serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 1 and on the Industrial Usage and U.S. Production Committee. Harms has been on the Board of Directors for Siouxland Energy of Sioux Center, Iowa (3 years), ALCECO in Albert City, Iowa (12 years) and Ag Partners in Albert City, Iowa (9 years). He has also been involved in the Iowa Soybean Growers, Minnesota Soybean Processors and Little Sioux Corn Processers. Community involvement is important to Harms as he has been a part of the Finance Council for St. Joseph's Catholic Church and involved with the Okoboji Pioneer Booster Club. Chad and his wife Jill have two kids, Alli and Austin. Both children are involved in the family farm.

Dennis Friest - Chairman

Dennis Friest raises corn and soybeans, maintains a sow herd and runs a farrow-to-finish operation near Radcliffe in Hardin County where he has been farming for 51 years. Dennis currently serves as an Iowa Corn Growers Association Chair and serves on the Grassroots Network, Membership & Checkoff Committee. He is past president of the Iowa Soybean Association, current president of the Hardin County Corn and Soybean Association and served on the Hardin County Pork Producers Board. Dennis chaired the Middle East International Marketing Committee for the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health for the American Soybean Association. He completed nine years on the American Soybean Board and is a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association. Dennis currently also serves on the U.S. Grains Council Value Added A-Team. He has served 20 years on the Hardin County Extension Council and three years on the ISU Extension Advisory Committee. Dennis has served as a trustee and current president for Zion Lutheran Church and is a past commander of the Radcliffe American Legion. He sees possible regulation of nutrient and chemical use as the biggest challenge facing Iowa farmers and wants to work with environmentalists to achieve workable solutions. He is also interested in expanding foreign trade and especially in promoting livestock and value-added products to increase corn use. Dennis graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Animal Science. He and his wife, Helen, have three children and their son, Brent, farms with him.

Derek Kemper

Derek Kemper is a 5th generation farmer in Tama County, raising corn and soybeans. He farms along his brother-in-law and father-in-law. On their farm, they utilize cover crops for cattle grazing. He graduated from Buena Vista in Criminal Justice and served in the Iowa Army National Guard for eight years. Kemper has worked for Bayer Crop Science and Corteva and as manager of their operation. Derek serving as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director for District 5 and serves as the Vice Chair of Grassroots Network, Membership & Checkoff Committee. Kemper is a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, Farm Bureau and Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo. In the past he was a youth group leader for middle school and high school kids and helped the local REC basketball program. He was exposed to the Iowa Corn Growers Association at an early age when his grandpa served as a director. Seeing his grandpa's passion to better himself and the average grain producer shaped Kemper both personally and professionally. He is ecstatic to have an opportunity to serve the Iowa corn grower in this capacity and will continue to promote the industry that he lives every day. Kemper and his wife Amelia have two children, Emma and Grady.

Jason Orr

Jason Orr is a fifth-generation farmer from Buchanan County, raising waxy corn, grass hay and 40 head of stock cows. On their farm for the past three years, they have used cover crops on every acre and this year will also be converting to strip-till. Currently Jason serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 3 and on the Research & Business Development Committee. Jason has lived in northeast Iowa for his entire life and has had numerous experiences to help represent District 3. Currently he serves on the Buchanan County Corn Growers Board (2008-present), Buchanan County Fair Association Board (2022-present), Buchanan County Pork Producers Board (2003-2007) and is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association. Jason is very passionate about corn production and will continue to fight to keep the demand for agriculture products high. Jason and his wife Megan have three children Jaxtin, Kaydence and Jarret. Jarret, a recent graduate of Iowa State University, will be returning to the farm as the sixth generation and will be planting his first crop this year. Outside of working on the farm Jason and his family enjoy golfing and attending concerts.

Jeff Thomsen

Jeff Thomsen has been farming in Cass County for 36 years, raising corn, beans, hay and cattle. On their farm they are always trying to improve conservation practices and are currently working with the Pheasants Forever project with the National Corn Growers Association to build habitat and implementing those ideas on the farm. Thomsen also works as a welder building feed wagons at Schuler Manufacturing and has worked as a welder for the last fifteen years. Currently Jeff serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 7 and on the Grassroots Network, Membership and Checkoff Committee. Jeff serves on the Cass County Corn and Soybean Association Board and as a voting delegate at ICGA Grassroots Summit. He is also a member of Pheasants Forever, Iowa Cattlemen's Association and Cumberland Community Boosters, as well as a past Cumberland Farmers' Cooperative board member, Cumberland Telephone Company Board member and is an FFA alumni member who remains a proponent of youth programs. Jeff and his wife Rana have four children, Sarah, Matt, Lane and Jace and have four grandchildren.

Jerod Flaherty

Jerod Flaherty has been farming in Clarke County for 16 years producing corn, soybeans and various forage crops as well as raising a cow herd. On his operation he utilizes cover crops as well as rotational grazing. Currently Jerod serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 8 and as Chair of the Animal Agriculture & Environment Committee. He also participates on the Clarke County FSA Committee and is a part of the Clarke County Cattlemen. Outside of agriculture he is a leader and teacher at the Osceola Church of Christ. He looks forward to his time on ICPB to work to better represent the non-land-owning tenant farmers as he feels is an underrepresented population in many agriculture industries. He believes tenant farmers have a unique perspective on Iowa agriculture and wants to share his insight. Jerod and his wife, Jess have three kids, Grant, Isla Kay and Louie Marie.

Jolene Riessen - President

Jolene Riessen along with her two sons, Cory and Lee, farm in Ida and Sac counties in Northwest Iowa. Their operation consists of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, custom cattle feeding and cow/calf. Jolene serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association President and is on the Exports & The Grain Trade Committee.... Jolene serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association President and is on the Exports & The Grain Trade Committee. She is very active in the agriculture industry and has had the opportunity to work in different ag related jobs that have complimented her farm roots. Jolene currently serves as an Ida County District Soil Commissioner and is President of the Sac/Ida Corn Growers Association. She has served on the Animal, Ag and Environment Committee for Iowa Corn, Chair of the Industrial Usage and Production Committee and has served on the Governor's task force for carbon sequestration and is a vocal advocate for what farmers are doing to help improve water quality. Her commitment to the ag sector continues through her memberships to the Ida County Cattlemen, Ida County Farm Bureau and Iowa Soybean Association DAC. Ethanol, livestock and water quality are and will continue to be important areas of advocacy for Jolene on behalf of Iowa Corn farmers.

Lance Lillibridge

Lance Lillibridge farms in Benton County growing corn, soybeans and alfalfa. He also raises Red Angus cattle and has been farming for over 20 years. Lance employs several conservation practices on his farm including strip tillage and planting cover crops. Lance currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association Director at Large and on the Animal Agriculture & The Environment Committee. He was also appointed to the U.S Grains Council Trade Policy Advisory Team. Lance is the former chair of both the Benton County Corn Growers and the Iowa Corn District 6 Committee. He is a member of Iowa Farm Bureau, the Red Angus Association, the North American Red Angus Association and has served as a former 4-H leader. He also serves on the advisory committee for the Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Strategy. Lance farms with his wife, Heidi, and their two children. His family is passionate about growing food and fuel in a sustainable, wholesome and profitable manner.

Larry Buss - Chairman

Larry Buss is a row crop farmer from Logan, Iowa. He has had success at two distinctly different careers at the same time which are engineering for 49 years and farming for 47 years. Larry currently serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Chair and serves on the Research & Business Development Committee. He has served in the US Army Reserve, held positions with the US Army Corps of Engineers in the field of water resources engineering and served on the external advisory council for the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at Iowa State University. He currently serves as Chair of the Rand-Peterson Levee District Board of Trustees, Lt. Governor of Division of the Nebraska - Iowa Kiwanis District, Vice President of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Vice President of the Iowa Master Farmer Association, on the board of the Coalition to Protect the Missouri River, a member of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Soybean Association, Nebraska Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Risk Management Action Team, US Grains Council Mideast/Africa/South Asia Action Team, the Iowa Pest Resistance Management Program Harrison County Project Leader and Member of Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee. His goals for the Iowa Corn Promotion Board include profitability for Iowa corn producers, finding new areas to add value to corn to expanding corn markets, and expanded education and information on the value and use of corn. Larry has degrees from Iowa State University and the University of Nebraska. Larry and his wife, Bunny, have two sons (Troy and Jason) who are involved in the family farming/ag business operation along with their spouses and grandson.

Laura Foell

Laura Foell is a farmer from Sac County, where for 39 years she has raised corn and soybeans. Laura was raised on a small farm in Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University. She moved to Iowa in 1984 and joined her husband, Bill, on his family farm. Their farm is a no-till operation and they have developed farm plans including buffer strips, CRP, strip tillage and horticulture crops in addition to corn and soybeans. Recently their son Tom joined the operation as they continue the century farm for another generation. Laura currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 4 and on the Exports & The Grain Trade Committee. Laura has worked as a Iowa Soybean Association Field Coordinator, Sac County Extension Education Director, Sac County REC Value Added Ag Director and served on the Sac County Board of Supervisors. Currently, she serves as an Iowa Natural Resource Commissioner, Iowa Monarch Consortium - Farmer Outreach Committee and on the Iowa Corn Animal Agriculture and Environment Committee. In the past she has served on the National Chairman of U.S. Soybean Export Council, Assistant Sac County Soil and Water Commissioner, Iowa Director on United Soybean Board, Domestic Marketing Committee and Animal Agriculture Initiative Member of the United Soybean Board and the Sac County Farm Bureau Board. She is also a member of Practical Farmers of Iowa, Council for Ag Science and Technology, Landus Coop and AgState Coop. Laura is also a former 4-H Leader and Eden Township clerk.

Logan Lyon

Logan Lyon is a farmer from Muscatine County where he grows corn and soybeans. Logan and his wife Emily have also been developing their cow calf herd since 2015 when they started with just 2 cows. His goal is to continue to diversify his family farming operation to best capture changes in the market. Logan currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 6 and on the Animal Agriculture and the Environment Committee. Logan grew up helping on his family farm in Southeast Iowa and has continued to expand his knowledge of agriculture through different careers and agriculture groups. In college he was a member of the first Iowa Corn Growers Collegiate Advisory Team and a National President for the Professional Agriculture Student Organization. Currently he is very involved in his community. He is a board member for Scott County Farm Bureau and also participated in an international mission to South America as a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association I-LEAD Class 9. Logan day jobs as an Ag Risk Manager and Crop Insurance Agent in Southeast Iowa. He is an active member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Soybean Association member, Scott County Ag-in-the-classroom volunteer, Scott County 4-H volunteer, Agribusiness Association of Iowa member and various Co-op and Ag supplier memberships as well. Logan and his wife Emily have three young children, Lambert, Lucy and Langston.

Mark Mueller

Mark Mueller has been farming for 25 years near Waverly in Bremer County producing no-till corn, soybeans, alfalfa, specialty beans, forage rye and corn for silage. He is a fourth-generation farmer and serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) Director representing District 3 and is the Chair of the Exports & The Grain Trade Committee as well as the Chair of the PAC Committee. He also is the past chair of the U.S. Grains Council's Western Hemisphere Committee, overseeing issues affecting the sales and movement of corn, sorghum and barley in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. In 2014, Mark was one of the first 20 participants in the Soil Health Partnership, a 10-year National Corn Growers Association study to calculate the economic benefits of cover crops. Mark earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Ag-Business and Agronomy from Iowa State University. He is a graduate of the leadership development programs of both Iowa Corn (I-LEAD class II) and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (Leadership Iowa ‘98). Before farming, Mark worked in research, production and sales in the seed industry. Past positions include serving as chair of the Bremer County Planning and Zoning Commission, president of the Bremer County Corn & Soybean Growers Association, president of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association and representing ICGA on the board of the Iowa Nutrient Research and Education Council (INREC). Mark has written articles for Top Producer, Progressive Farmer and other publications. Mark and his wife, Jeri, have two daughters, Kate a graduate of wildlife ecology from Iowa State University working for the Center for Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island in Florida, and Sarah a graduate in media studies and creative writing from Loras College in Dubuque, doing post-production work on commercials in Chicago.

Mikayla Colehour

Mikayla Colehour farms in Linn County where she raises corn, soybeans, oats and hay. Along with her husband, Keith, they also raise bees, a small flock of chickens, ducks, guineas, turkeys and peafowls and have a cow/calf operation. Growing up, Mikayla was always active on her family's farm and found her passion for conservation. On their farm they utilize minimum tillage, waterways and are working on incorporating cover crops into their rotations. Currently Mikayla serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 6 and on the Exports and Grain Trade Committee. Mikayla is a graduate of Iowa State University and was actively involved in her local FFA chapter growing up. She has been an engaged member of the Linn County Corn Growers Board, the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team, the Iowa Corn's Animal Ag and the Environment Committee and Grassroots Network, Membership and Checkoff Committee. Mikayla also serves on the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Stewardship Action Team (STAT) and currently is the vice chair, a Corn Sustainability Advisory Group representative for STAT, NCGA Resolutions Committee and represents Iowa Corn on the Iowa Ag Water Alliance Advisory Council. She is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau and Iowa Cattlemen's Association. Currently she also serves as the township clerk. Mikayla has been involved with Iowa Corn since she was little and very active since she was sixteen. She enjoys advocating for Iowa farmers through all the roles she has played and looks forward to taking on this next leadership role to continue advocating for corn.

Mike Ver Steeg

Mike Ver Steeg has farmed in Lyon County for 28 years. He produces corn and soybeans and raises hogs. On his farm they implement strip-till, no-till and cover crops. They also have a feedmill where they mix all their own feed for pigs and he is an owner in Wholestone... Mike currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 1 and as the Vice Chair of the Animal Agriculture & the Environment Committee.

Paul Gieselman

Paul Gieselman has been farming for more than 25 years in Louisa County raising corn, soybeans, hay, aronia berries and a cow-calf operation. He also runs his own small trucking company. He has traveled to China, Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as California and around the Midwest on agriculture trade missions. He employs several conservation practices on his farm including, no-till and reduced tillage, buffer strips and terraces. Currently Paul serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 9 and on the Research & Business Development Committee. Gieselman is a graduate of the I-LEAD Class 6. He has been an active leader on the Louisa County Farm Bureau Board as well as a State Voting Delegate for the national convention. He currently serves on his county ISU Extension Council being Chairman for 3 years and serving for 9, while leading the various committees within the Council. He is currently the Chair of the Iowa Association of Extension Councils working to meet the needs of the 99 county Extension Councils. They organize a legislative day on the Hill as well as several professional development events. He is an active 4-H leader for the Wamaco club as well as a state certified shooting sports instructor. Gieselman also stays active locally coaching and umpiring youth sports and volunteering wherever he can at wrestling events, track meets, soccer or for his children's numerous school events. He also served in the past as the Beef Superintendent at the Louisa County fair. Gieselman and his wife Sara have three children August, Benjamin and Capp.

Ralph Lents - VP

Ralph Lents has been farming for 45 years, growing corn, soybeans and hay in Adair County. He has uses conservation tillage and no-till practices including buffer strips working to leave the land in better shape than when he started farming it. Ralph currently serves as the First Vice President of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director and on the Industrial Usage & U.S. Production Committee. He also serves as the Beef Superintendent for the Adair County Fair. He is a graduate of Iowa State University and have served in roles as president of the Adair County Extension, Corn, Soybeans and Pork Producers. He is a member of the Adair County Cattlemen, Pork Producers, Extension Board, past Superintendent of the Adair County Fair. He was appointed to the Environmental Protection Commission by Governor Branstad in 2015 and previously served on the board of State Extension and the Central Iowa Power Cooperative. Ralph reside in Menlo and have four children, Erica, Lou, Rob and Katie.

Ryan Steffensen

Ryan Steffensen has been row cropping in Winnebago County with his dad and brother for nine years and more recently picked up more farm ground in Guthrie County with his wife, Amanda. They are always looking for ways to better their conservation efforts and increase yields. He is a firm believer in riparian buffer strips, no-till, strip till, and split applications of nitrogen. Ryan also finds true value in his off-farm career as a retail salesperson for Helena Agri-Enterprises LLC because it gives him great insight into production practices and allows him to see what other growers are doing to be successful. Ryan serving as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director for District 4 and serves as the Vice Chair of the Exports & the Grain Trade Committee. He has also been the Guthrie County Corn Growers President since 2016, and active in the District 4 Corn Growers committee starting in 2017 and is also a part of the Helena M.A.P. program. He was honored to be a part of the I-LEAD 9 class as well is serving on the Exports and Grain Trade Committee. Currently he is a Guthrie County Farm Bureau member, an Iowa Corn voting delegate and enjoys volunteering his time as a district FFA contest judge. Outside of agriculture he is a Winnebago/Hancock Pheasants Forever member and served on the banquet committee. Ryan is passionate about the ethanol industry, new uses for corn-plastics and sharing Iowa agriculture with consumers. Since starting his farming career in 2012 he has experienced some great and some poor years along the way, but no matter what he is focused on growing his farming operation to pass on to his kids and instill in them the same passion for conservation and agronomy he possesses. He feels by being a part of Iowa Corn he is surrounding himself with the best people this industry has to offer and is excited to help better the industry for all Iowa growers. Ryan and Amanda have three kids, Eva, Cora and Mila.

Stan Nelson - President

Stan Nelson has been farming for 42 years in Des Moines County. The southeast Iowa native raises corn, soybeans for seed and hay along with his daughter Valerie, her husband Jared, daughter Emily and her husband Caleb. Stan serves as the President on the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and on the Animal Agriculture and Enviornment Committee. Stan currently sits on the National Corn Growers Association and U.S. Grains Council Action Teams. He has been involved in the Iowa Soybean Association, the Iowa Cattleman's Association, as well as the Iowa Farm Bureau. His past agricultural leadership roles include being director at the Iowa Soybean Association District 9 for five years. He is active within his community and serves as a Deacon at his local church. He has also served as a school board member at the Danville Community School District for nine years and as a Danville Township Trustee. Stan graduated from Iowa State University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in farm operations. During his farming career he has conducted different research projects and implemented various conservation and farming practices to find what best works for his land and productivity. He and his wife, Martha, reside on their family's century farm near Middletown and have five adult children and thirteen grandchildren.

Steve Kuiper

Steve Kuiper has been farming for over 30 years growing corn and soybeans on his family's farm in Marion County. He worked in manufacturing at Vermeer for 30 years and holds an associate degree from Indiana Hills Community College. Steve currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 8 and as the chair the Research & Business Development Committee. He has been a part of a local ethanol plant promotion and participates in a local growers group who develops specialty markets and agricultural investments. He also serves on the board of the Marion County Farm Bureau. Steve enjoys farming and spending time with his wife, Melinda, their children and grandchildren.

Stu Swanson - VP

Stu Swanson is a third-generation family farmer in the Galt and Clarion area raising corn and soybeans as well as custom feeding wean to finish hogs. Stu currently serves as the Iowa Corn Growers Association First Vice President and on the Animal Agriculture & Environment Committee. In past experiences, he has served on the Strategic Planning Taskforce. He has served in leadership positions in the North Central Coop Board of Directors, County FSA Committee, and the Wright County Fair Swine Committee. After college, he worked at the Iowa Pork Producers Association as the director of producer education. Stu also received the honor of being selected by the Iowa Pork Producers Association as Master Pork Producer in 2017, the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers Good Farm Neighbor Award in 2019 and the IDALS Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Award in 2020. He is a current member of Iowa's corn, soybean, and pork producers associations as well as the Wright County Farm Bureau. In addition, he plays an active role in many activities with Wright County Fair including serving on the swine committee and has sat on the county 4-H youth committee as well as a current leader for the Wright County PIG 4-H club. He is passionate about accelerating water quality efforts in Iowa. Stu uses buffer strips, wetland, conservation reserve acres and nitrogen stabilizers to help improve soil health and water on his farm. He implemented a two-and-a-half-acre grid soil sampling program 15 years ago in order to fertilize each acre more precisely and utilizes poultry and hog manure to fertilize nearly two-thirds of his farms from his own facilities, as well as neighboring. Stu enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters. He is proud to instill the importance of agriculture with his children.

Will Cannon

Will Cannon has been producing corn, soybeans, forages, and cereal rye for 22 years in Jasper County. His passion for conservation is shown throughout his operation as he practices no-till, strip till and cover crops. He also has worked at Ag Leader Technology in tech support and product development for ten years. Will currently serves as an Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 5 and as Vice Chair for the Research & Business Development Committee. He is a graduate from the Iowa Corn I-LEAD Class 4 and has hosted the World Pork Expo International Dinner for multiple years. He is also active with the Iowa Soybean Association and previously sat on the Jasper County Farm Bureau Board. Outside of agriculture he is a member of City Church of Ames in the Des Moines area. Soil health and sustainability both environmentally and economically are important to Cannon. That is why he hosts many conservation field days on his farm as well as educates himself on both private and public programs trying to incentivize farmers in his area to use conservation programs. While farmer education is a huge passion of his, Cannon also finds value in educating consumers where their food comes from. He is proud of his "open farm gate policy" allowing him to host thousands of interested people on his farm. Because his farm is located only 20 minutes from Des Moines, he takes this responsibility seriously to be an ambassador to farming in his own way. Cannon is truly ready to bring the knowledge he has gains combined with his passion for farming to make a difference in this industry. Cannon and his wife Cassie raise two children, Oliver and Case, whom he hopes to have the opportunity to live the great farm lifestyle.
