The Japanese Medical Society of America was established in 1973, as a nonprofit organization by Japanese medical professionals serving the New York region. Today, our organization consists of members from various fields of heathcare and includes physicians, dentists, nurses, researchers, residents, and students all across the United States. Our main focus is supporting the Japanese and Japanese-American communities through various health related efforts... JMSA is an organization based in New York, comprised of Japanese healthcare providers, students, and those from diverse backgrounds who support promoting health, science and research among the Japanese communities in the US and Japan... One such activity, which has been ongoing since JMSA's founding, is the scholarship program. This program distributes scholarships to medical/dental/nursing students as well as postdoctoral researchers and medical residents, who demonstrate academic excellence and service to the Japanese community...
