Allan Steinman

Allan Steinman thinks the Kline Galland Board is the best one which he's ever served. Allan Steinman is a former founding principal of Bader Martin, P.S. where we worked as a CPA before retiring. His practice emphasized tax and business planning for closely held and family businesses. Originally from Aberdeen, WA, Allan earned his BA and MBA from the University of Puget Sound. He served as past president of Temple Beth El in Tacoma, Home of Peace Cemetery board, Past President of Puget Sound Public Radio (KUOW) and the current board treasurer of Forterra. He is a member of Temple Beth Am. Allan and his wife, Diane Sigel-Steinman have been involved with Kline Galland for most of their adult lives. Their grandparents, parents and many family members and loved ones have utilized Kline Galland's care services. Allan has served on Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2005 and served as Board Chair from 2015-2016.

Ari Robicsek

Ari Robicsek, MD, is Chief Analytics and Research officer at Providence, a 52-hospital physician health care system based on the West Coast of the United States. His team is responsible for supporting hospital and medical group operations by democratizing data, discovering and disseminating best practices, measuring quality and innovating analytical technology. Dr. Robicsek, who specializes in infectious diseases, has a longstanding passion for data science and health care informatics. Before coming to Providence, he was vice president of clinical analytics at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Illinois, where his team received multiple honors for information technology. In 2017, he was one of Health Data Management's Top 25 Physician IT leaders. Ari's academic work has been published in JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Nature Medicine, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, NEJM Catalyst and other journals. He has co-chaired Epic's Research Advisory Council and Data Scientist Forums, and been a keynote presenter at national and international meetings on clinical analytics. Dr. Robicsek received his medical degree from the University of Toronto Medical School, where he also served his internship and residency. He completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Harvard Medical School. He has served on Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2019.

Barbara Sulman

A lifelong Seattleite, Barbara is a highly respected community leader. She has served on the boards of some very notable organizations, including Hillel, Jewish Family Services, Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, Stroum Jewish Community Center, as well as Kline Galland. A former high school career counselor, Barbara spends time working in the family business, Keller Supply Company founded by her father Howard, in 1945. Barbara has been married to Stuart Sulman for 50 years and together they have two adult children and four grandchildren. The Sulman's belong to Temple De Hirsch Sinai. In her leisure time, Barbara plays bridge, travels and spends time with family and many dear friends.

Brian Quint

Brian Quint, owner and operator of Aqua Quip since 1979, sold his business in January of 2019. He is originally from Seattle, WA and graduated with from Washington State University with his BA in General Business Management. Brian has been a member of the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 1998, serving as Board Chair from 2016 to 2018, and currently serves as chair of the Development Committee. He is also been a member of the board of directors at Temple De Hirsch Sinai since 2021, and will be serving as Treasurer in 2022-2023. Brian is husband of 41 years to his wife, Nancy, and together they have two adult daughters. He pursues many personal interests including travel, golf, downhill skiing, hiking, scuba diving, and spending time with his family.

David Fain

David Fain is a Financial Advisor at AssuredPartners. He received a BS in entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He serves his community in a number of ways, including as the VP of Programs for Rotary - Seattle #4, Secretary for the Seattle Estate Planning Council, on the Legacy Advisor Board at Seattle Children's Hospital, on the Advisory Board at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and is a Top of the Table member with Million Dollar Round Table, trade association. David resides on Mercer Island, Washington with his wife Lisa of 21 years and has two daughters. He enjoys the bounty of Pacific Northwest sports, including pickleball, kayaking, cross-country ski trips, and is passionate about cooking and smoking fish. David has served on the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 2019.

Doug Wiviott

Doug Wiviott is a Partner of Rainier Overseas Movers. Doug earned his BS in Fisheries from the University of Washington. Originally from Seattle, he currently resides with his wife Marcia in Newcastle, WA and at their beach home on Camano Island. Doug is passionate about the best the Pacific Northwest has to offer including fishing, hiking, biking and kayaking. He also spends his time watching his four grandchildren play a variety of sports. A member of Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2015, Doug also serves as VP of the Tyee Beach Water Association.

Elana Zana

Elana Zana is a fourth generation Seattleite with deep roots in the Jewish community. She is a health care attorney with a focus in compliance, technology and digital health. She currently works as the Vice President of Legal and Compliance at a local healthcare technology company, and previously was a senior partner in private practice. Prior board experience includes serving on the board of the Seattle Hebrew Academy, Sephardic Adventure Camp and Congregation Ezra Bessaroth. Elana joined the Kline Galland Board of Directors in 2021.

Erin Sheridan - Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Legal Officer

Erin Sheridan is the Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel at Kline Galland. With over twenty years of experience in the non-profit health care sector, Erin is a specialist in health care regulatory law and compliance. Erin provides legal support to the Kline Galland team and oversees and insures Kline Galland's compliance with laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Erin received her law degree from Stanford. She and her husband have three adult children. Erin has been working at Kline Galland since 2021.

Irene Fisher

Irene Fisher was born and raised in New York City. She was a founding member of Gottlieb, Fisher & Andrews, PLLC, a Seattle law firm that specialized in public finance and non-profit law. Prior to establishing her own firm, Irene was a partner at Riddell Williams, P.S., where she chaired the firm's public finance group. Irene has retired from the active practice of law. In addition to serving on the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 2009, Irene also serves as a member of the board of The Bush School. She has previously been a member of The Rainier Club board, and chaired the boards of the Rainier Club's Heritage Society. Irene and her husband, Albert, a visual artist, have one adult daughter, Molly Rose. Irene has served as Board Chair since 2022.

Jack Almo

Jack is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. His team develops customized wealth management solutions for ultra-high net worth families, private foundations and endowments, and privately controlled companies. Originally from Seattle, Jack graduated from Yeshiva University with Honors. He is deeply passionate about community service and is a past Chairman of Kline Galland Center (2018-2021), a Trustee of the Samis Foundation, and Chair of the Investment Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. Jack and his wife Adina have three children and live on Mercer Island. Jack has served on the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 2008.

Jay Riffkin

Jay Riffkin is a partner in the Tax, Trusts and Estates Group at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Seattle. His work centers on guiding clients through all stages of estate planning, including wills, trusts and charitable gift planning, international estate and tax planning, and litigation. Jay serves as a member of Dorsey's Policy Committee (Board of Directors), and is also a Senior Vice President and director of the Dorsey & Whitney Trust Company. Jay is extremely involved in the community, serving on boards or committees for organizations including the Stroum Jewish Committee Center, Full Life Care, and more. He has served on Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2015. Jay was awarded Dorsey's "Scales of Justice Award" for Exceptional Pro Bono Work in 2016 and 2017 in recognition of his pro bono work. Jay graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 before graduating from Seattle University School of Law in 2009. In 2010, Jay completed his LL.M in Taxation from the University of Florida.

Jeff Cohen - CEO

Jeff Cohen is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kline Galland. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, he graduated SUNY Oneonta with a B.S. in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to joining Kline Galland, Jeff was the COO from 2001-2006 at a senior care organization in Los Angeles, CA. He and his wife Betsy, to whom he has been married 30 years, have two adult children. Jeff has been working at Kline Galland since 2006.

Jeff Piha

Jeff Piha is a Principal at Sweeney Conrad, P.S. He earned his degree from the University of Washington. Originally from Bellevue, Jeff currently resides in Newcastle, WA. He has known about Kline Galland his whole life, as his great grandmother was a resident at the Kline Galland Home when he was born. In addition to serving on Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2019, Jeff previously served on the board of Hillel UW and on the Overlake Hospital Audit and Compliance Committee. He also keeps busy supporting his kid's various sports and dance teams.

Liliya Babadzhanova

Liliya Babadzhanova brings 24 years of healthcare experience to her current role as Administrator of the Kline Galland Home. She has proven effective at a variety of roles during her career, including Resident Care Manager, MDS Nurse, Staff Development/Nurse Educator, Director of Nursing Services and Executive Administrator. Liliya completed 4 years of medical school before pursuing her Nursing BSN at Seattle University. Liliya has been working at Kline Galland since 2017.

Lynn Du Bey

Lynn Du Bey is a lawyer who worked in private practice and in-house. During her career, she served as a partner at Preston Gates & Ellis LLP, with a focus on employment law, and as a Senior VP and Associate General Counsel at Washington Mutual Savings Bank. Before practicing law, she was a special education teacher. Lynn earned her JD from Seattle University and her M.Ed. from Boston University. Lynn has served on Kline Galland's Board of Directors since 2008. She is the chair of Kline Galland's Compliance Committee and a member of its Governance Committee and Risk Management Task Force. Additionally, she volunteers by teaching English to refugees and immigrants and working as a member of the crew in a hot meal kitchen. Lynn has also volunteered for several years as a classroom assistant within the Seattle Public Schools and as a visiting English teacher in public schools within Italy.

Marc Bridge

Marc Bridge is the Founder and CEO of At Present, a digital marketplace for distinctive designer jewelry. Prior to founding At Present, Marc was Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Secretary for Ben Bridge Jeweler (a Berkshire Hathaway Company). Born and raised in Seattle, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, the London School of Economics, and the University of Washington School of Law. He currently lives in the Madison Park neighborhood with his wife and their two children. Marc has served on the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 2019.

Mark Kane

Mark Kane is the Chief Operating Officer of GLY Construction. He has lived between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. since the late 1960's, and currently resides in Sammamish, WA. Mark Earned his BA in Mathematics at the University of Washington, and his MS in Civil Engineering at the Construction at Stanford University. Starting as a volunteer at Kline Galland on the building committee with the construction of the Mary Schwartz Summit over 25 years ago, he transitioned to the Board of Directors in 1999 and served as the Past Board Chair from 2012-2014. Mark is also involved with the ULI Urban Development + Mixed Use Council, Leadership Tomorrow, NAIOP Washington, and Temple De Hirsch Sinai where he served as a past board member. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends fishing, sailing, boating, cycling, skiing and traveling. Mark and his wife Vicci have two grown daughters, Sydney and Alena, and recently celebrated Sydney's marriage to Jacob Pruchno as well as their own 35 th wedding anniversary.

Matthew Powondra

Matthew Powondra is Administrator of Mary Schwartz Summit, Kline Galland's residential care community. With more than 14 years of experience, Matthew has contributed to both acute and post-acute care operations working at both domestic and foreign hospitals, before shifting his career to the post-acute, skilled, and long-term residential settings. Before moving to Seattle in December of 2020, Matthew most recently opened and operated a 190-apartment assisted living community in San Francisco, CA. Matthew has been working at Kline Galland since 2020.

Mike Morgan

Mike Morgan is one of the most recognized lawyers in the Pacific Northwest with more than 40 years of experience representing major publicly and privately held companies in a wide range of business transactions. He earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1974. Mike regularly represents clients on corporate governance matters and also serves as counsel to Boards and Board committees and individual Board members of many companies. Mike's M&A practice includes representing buyers and sellers in domestic and international deals. He frequently speaks at M&A and securities programs and has served on the advisory board of the Seattle University Center on Corporations, Law & Society's Director Training Academy.

Nate Nusbaum

Nate Nusbaum is an accomplished senior Fund Development executive with over 30 years of experience leading both volunteers and staff in a variety of fundraising strategies. As Chief Development Officer for Kline Galland, Nate oversees all aspects of the Kline Galland Foundation's philanthropy programs, including planned giving, major gifts, annual giving and community awareness. Nate has been working at Kline Galland since 2020.

Pam Swanborn

Pam Swanborn is Administrator of Benaroya Community Services at Kline Galland. She has previous experience as the Clinical Director of Kline Galland Home Health, Rehab Manager, as well as a Physical Therapist. Pam attended Bucknell University for her undergraduate degree and received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. Pam strives to create a culture of quality through motivation, respect and engagement to ensure all caregivers are empowered to provide the best patient care possible. Pam values her time with her husband and two young adult children, and she stays active doing yoga, dance, swimming and cycling. Pam has been working at Kline Galland since 2012.

Rabbi James Mirel

James Mirel is the rabbi of Bet Chaverim and Rabbi Emeritus of Temple B'nai Torah. He and his wife Julie have been awarded the Carolyn Danz Lifetime Service award by Kline Galland for over 45 years of continuous volunteer activities at the Kline Galland Home and the Mary Schwartz Summit (formerly The Summit at First Hill). He currently holds the position of spiritual consultant to the clients and staff of Kline Galland. Rabbi Mirel is also affiliated with AJC JFGS, and the Holocaust Center. While he has over 48 years of service to Kline Galland, he officially joined the Kline Galland Board of Directors in 2017.

Robert (Bob) Simon - Chairman

Robert (Bob) Simon is the founder of NOVA Fisheries Inc., involved with both "frozen-at-sea" fisheries and aquaculture fisheries, where he served as CEO for 35 years until the sale of the company in 2021. From a variety of species around the world, NOVA 's focus is sustainable fisheries, post-harvest further processing, and subsequent distribution worldwide. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and a Master of Science in Public Health, Bioengineering, Bob currently serves as CEO of SunWave Ventures LLC, a venture capital investment firm. In addition, Bob has been active in philanthropy. He has administered The Simon Family Charitable Trust, SunWave/ NOVA since its founding in 1987 and has served as a board trustee for numerous nonprofit organizations. The latter includes 12 years with Northwest Harvest, an ecumenical organization, which honored him with the St. Matthew's Award for dedicated service. He currently serves as an officer of the Kline Galland Organization where he has been a Board trustee since 2009.

Shelly Ryan

Shelly Ryan is the Chief of Human Resources at Kline Galland. Previously, Shelly spent 31 years as the Vice President of Human Resources at a senior care organization in Los Angeles, CA. During her time in California, she taught a series of courses on Human Resources at the American Jewish University, and Cal State Channel Islands. Shelly's calling for Human Resources is rooted in her passion to do everything possible to promote an environment that honors, strengthens, and inspires healthcare heroes to provide the incredible care every single day. Shelly has been working at Kline Galland since 2013.

Steve Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz brings over 30 years' experience in corporate and business development from some of the nation's leading health technology companies. He currently serves as Executive VP of Corporate Development at Transcarent. Prior to that Mr. Schwartz was senior vice president of Business and Corporate Development at Livongo that in 2017 achieved Nasdaq's largest digital health IPO; and a year later he helped lead the company's $18.5 billion merger with Teladoc. Today, Mr. Schwartz serves on a number of boards and part time as Executive VP of Mergers and Acquisitions for Senior Connect Acquisition Corp., a blank check company led by Chairman Richard Burke, the founder and former CEO of UnitedHealth Group. Mr. Schwartz recently celebrated his 36 th wedding anniversary and has 4 grown children and 2 grandchildren. He has served on the Kline Galland Board of Directors since 2017.

Tracey Groscost - CFO

Tracey Groscost is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kline Galland. With nearly three decades of hand-on experience in the financial aspects of non-profit and human services sectors, Tracey contributes significantly to the strategic growth of Kline Galland and the successful integration and expansion of Benaroay Community Services. Tracey earned her BA in Accounting from Western Washington University, did strategic leadership course work at The Wharton School/University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Washington State. Tracey lives with her husband and two children in North Bend. Tracey has been working at Kline Galland since 2014.
