Dr. Nelson grew up in the small town of Fessenden, North Dakota where his parents still reside. He is the second oldest of five children. He graduated from Fessenden High School and then attended the University of Mary where he graduated with a degree in Biology. He then went to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he earned is Doctor or Dental Surgery degree in 2003.
Dr. Nelson lives by Fort Ransom and is a member of Standing Rock Lutheran Church. He has 5 children. His hobbies include spending time with his family, hunting, reading, 4 wheeling, and staying active.
