On August 21, 2023, Alan became the 13th Town Manager for Limestone within an 8-year period following the resignation of Alvin Lam. Alan retired from the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Customs and Border Protection after 18 1/2 years of federal law enforcement service as a Customs and Border Protection Officer and a total of 35 1/2 years as a federal employee. Collaterally, he served 15 years as the President of National Treasury Employees Union Chapter 141 representing nearly 400 CBP Officers and non-uniformed employees in Maine, New Hampshire, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was also a member of the NTEU National Bargaining Team. Prior to that, he was employed as a Branch Chief, Supervisor, and Accounting Technician with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.
