NEWSPRING - Key Persons
Alden is originally from Florence, SC and moved to Anderson, SC to attend Anderson University. He accepted Jesus in 2000. Since joining staff in 2005, Alden has had several different roles and is honored to serve as the Columbia Campus Pastor. Alden and his wife, Deanna, have a son, Bryce, and daughter, Chloe! The Ellis family is so excited to see Jesus change the city and the entire Midlands region!
Allen has served on staff at NewSpring since 2015. He and Jill both grew up in Anderson and love their hometown! After graduating from Furman University, they came back to Anderson. They have three sons: Eddie, Charlie, and Wyatt. Allen stepped into the role of Anderson Campus Pastor in the summer of 2023. The Cothran's truly enjoy family and friends and aim to cultivate gratitude for the life with which they've been blessed!

Andrew was born and raised in Powdersville. He was saved and baptized at the age of 6, and during a summer mission trip in the 8th grade, he decided to get serious about living out a relationship with God. After graduating from Wren, he went to Anderson University where he started attending NewSpring on campus. Andrew began serving on staff in 2005 as a worship leader, and throughout his time on staff, has served with Fuse, Discipleship, Connections, and NewSpring Leadership College. Coming home to lead in Powdersville has been a dream come true. Andrew and his wife, Caroline, have two boys, and they enjoy playing sports in the yard and exercising together. He also loves to cook and have friends in their home.
Billy began attending NewSpring Church with his parents in eighth grade. When he was 19 years old, Jesus met him and changed the trajectory of his life. Shortly after he met Jesus, Billy felt called into ministry. After serving with the Anderson Campus for several years, he and his wife, Hannah, moved to Columbia to join NewSpring staff. They got to be part of launching and building the Northeast Columbia campus for seven years! Then, they found themselves following Jesus to Florence. They are passionate about seeing God build His Church in Florence and seeing renewal within the city. Billy and Hannah have two children: Gracelyn and Ezra.

Brendan and his wife Lauren have been part of the Charleston Campus since its very beginning in 2010. A Clemson University graduate, Brendan's degree and career were in accounting. In 2011, he made the decision to leave his accounting career and transition into vocational ministry. He and his family love Charleston. His passion is to see the people of the city of Charleston in an everyday relationship with Jesus. Brendan and his wife are high school sweethearts who grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. They moved to the Lowcountry after getting married and have three children: Eva, Felicity, and Timon.

Drew first came to NewSpring in 2004 as a sixth grade student. After years of growing up in Fuse, he joined staff in 2014! During his years on staff, Drew has served as an intern with our Fuse Student Ministry, Fuse Pastor, and Associate Campus Pastor in Spartanburg. He now serves as our Spartanburg Campus Pastor. Drew and his wife, Summer, are the proud parents of two boys, Mason and Cooper, and one girl, Miller.

Jason was raised in Savannah, Georgia, where he received Jesus as his Savior while in middle school. He felt a call to ministry before graduating high school and has held various vocational ministry positions since 2000. He married his high school sweetheart, Amy, and together they have two daughters, Savannah (Savvy) and Summer. He's passionate about growing a vibrant spiritual family in the Low Country!

Johnathan and his wife Kami moved to Myrtle Beach in February 2014 to lead Fuse Student Ministry. Johnathan has been a part of NewSpring since 2005 when he was a seventh grader in Fuse. His grandmother was faithful to plant seeds of faith in his heart from the very beginning of his life which ultimately led to his surrender to Christ at the age of 15 at the Gauntlet, NewSpring's student summer camp experience. Shortly after, he felt a call to ministry to help ensure others got an opportunity to meet Christ and be led by Him just as Johnathan did. This is the path he and his wife are still on: living a life of faith and inviting others into the adventure. Johnathan and Kami have four children: Ruston, Olive, Ivory, and Copper.
Jon grew up in the Clemson area and met Jesus at an early age. He went to college in Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Cady. After finishing seminary in 2018, Jon and Cady felt called back to the Clemson area, where they got connected to NewSpring Church. In 2020, Jon came on staff as the Discipleship Director for the Clemson Campus. He stepped into the campus pastor role in the fall of 2022. Jon and Cady are thrilled to do ministry in the Clemson area and are eager to see Jesus move in the hearts of the people here. They have one child, Callum, and another on the way!

Matt has been attending NewSpring since 2002, when he was a high school senior. He and his wife, Erin, moved to Spartanburg after feeling a call into ministry. In 2011, the Alleys realized they were called to serve at NewSpring. He joined staff as the Spartanburg Connections Director in January 2012, and transitioned to the Greenwood Campus Pastor in September 2012. Matt and Erin have two children: a daughter Mattie and son Jase.

Matt grew up in Durham, NC where he met Jesus and was baptized at an early age. He began attending NewSpring in 2005 and saw his relationship with Jesus go to a whole new level. Through Fuse as a student, volunteer, and staff member, Matt's involvement in NewSpring and interest in the local church grew and grew over the years. He and his wife Nikki moved to Aiken in 2015 to start the Aiken Campus, and they are thrilled to be a part of what Jesus is doing in their city. They have two children: a son Hampton and daughter Ellison.
Ryan joined NewSpring staff in 2014 and has served in several roles in Columbia and Charleston. Now, he is leading in Greenville as the Campus Pastor and believes that Greenville holds great kingdom opportunity and promise. He and his wife Lauralee love being back in their hometown of Greenville to raise their family in this city where they have strong roots!
