Amy Vernon

Ashley Reed

Dr. Reed is double board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology. She is passionate about applying her findings at the microscope as a dermatopathologist to diagnose and treat her patients' challenging skin conditions. She has a special interest in skin cancers as well as cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Dr. Reed has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, Archives of Dermatology, and other medical journals. She enjoys staying active in academia and volunteering at Eastern Virginia Medical School to teach dermatology residents. Dr. Reed was a studio art minor in college while taking her prerequisites for medical school and enjoys painting and drawing in her free time. As a dermatologist, she enjoys the marriage of her experience as both an artist and physician to use cosmetic injectables (e.g. Botox®, Dysport®, and fillers) to help patients achieve natural and realistic results. She resides in Virginia Beach with her husband, John, and children, Jay and Kate.

Bruce Bauer

After seven years of teaching middle and high school in California, Dr. Bauer decided to change careers and moved his family to Norfolk to become a physician. He attended Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), followed by dermatology training in Wisconsin, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bauer focuses mainly on medical dermatology and treats all dermatological conditions with an emphasis on skin cancer treatment as well as the surgical removal of benign and malignant skin lesions. Education is a key aspect of his practice and he currently serves as a community faculty member at EVMS.

David M. Pariser

A practicing dermatologist for over 40 years, Dr. David Pariser is the senior physician at Pariser Dermatology Specialists. He is a world-renowned expert on psoriasis, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and photodynamic therapy, a treatment for early skin cancers and pre-cancers. He spends much of his time doing clinical research and has been involved in the development and testing of most drugs now commonly used in the practice of dermatology. A sought-after lecturer, he has taught other dermatologists at over 400 medical meetings and conventions in the U.S. and around the world. His research has led to the authorship of 4 textbooks and over 300 scientific publications in the medical literature. In 2009, his colleagues elected him President of the American Academy of Dermatology, the organization which represents nearly all dermatologists in the US and many from abroad. He has served in leadership roles in many other national and local dermatologic organizations and was voted as "Top Doctor" by Hampton Roads Magazine. Multiple national awards of recognition have been presented to him by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Dermatological Association. He has been voted by his peers the Educator of the Year (highest rated speaker) by both the Fall and Winter Clinical Dermatology Conferences, a popular educational convention for dermatologists from the US and around the world. As a member of the Executive Committee of the International League of Dermatologic Societies, the world body of dermatology, he has participated in the operation and management of and has participated in teaching and patient care on multiple visits to a special facility in Tanzania which provides dermatology education and patient care to a seriously under-served population in sub-Saharan Africa. He has been interviewed and provided medical information to the public through media outlets such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, WEB MD and many other print and on-line media outlets which help to educate the public on issues related to skin health and disease.

Dr. Katie Belote

Pariser Dermatology welcomes Dr. Katie Belote, a native of Newport News, Virginia. During her dermatology residency at the University of Virginia, she treated a wide range of patients including general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Prior to her time at UVA, Dr. Belote completed a portion of her dermatology residency in Center City Philadelphia, furthering her wide range of experience. As a practicing physician, she works to ensure each of her patients receives the highest quality care from routine skin checks and acne to skin cancers. Dr. Belote resides in Virginia Beach with her husband and young son, where she enjoys spending time on the beach and on her Peloton bike.

Dr. Kevin DeHart

Dr. Kevin DeHart practiced in Seattle, Washington before returning home to Virginia and joining his identical twin brother at Pariser Dermatology Specialists. His dermatology interests include, but are not limited to, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, and skin cancer. He treats a wide variety of patient populations including children, teenagers, adults as well as the LGBT community. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, golf, racquetball, and basketball. James P. Bota

Kelly DeHart

Dr. William Kelly DeHart is originally from Southwest Virginia and has an identical twin brother, Dr. Kevin DeHart, who is also a dermatologist at Pariser Dermatology. Dr. DeHart enjoys treating all skin disorders and offers the convenience of early morning appointments. In his spare time, he likes going to the gym, playing several sports (racquetball, basketball and golf), reading, and spending time with friends. Laine Koch

Dr. Koch is a board-certified dermatologist who practices general dermatology with special interests in pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology and cosmetic dermatology. She enjoys the diversity of general dermatology and all the unique challenges that arise within this field of medicine. She earned her bachelor of science from the College of William and Mary and her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Koch completed her internship in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters and completed her residency in dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Koch has authored and co-authored several publications in scientific journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology and Human Pathology and presented at various national conferences including the annual conference of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatopathology and the American Academy of Dermatology. As a military spouse, Dr. Koch has enjoyed the benefit of practicing medical dermatology in a variety of locations including Boston, MA; Washington, DC; and central California. But as a native of Hampton Roads, she is most excited to be back in Southeast Virginia where she now practices at Pariser Dermatology Specialists.
