The Putnam Indian Field School is an independent, co-educational preschool for children from toddler through Pre-K years. Established as the result of a merger in 1978 between two well-known Greenwich nursery schools, the school represents over 70 years of combined experience in serving community children. Organized as an educational, non-profit corporation, and operated by a Board of Trustees made up of school parents, PIFS is licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited as a program of excellence by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). In the spring of 2016, PIFS became a Connecticut Green LEAF School... PIFS is an independent, co-educational preschool for toddlers through pre-k. Inspiring confidence, curiosity, creativity and a sense of community in every child we teach... In addition to eight wonderful classrooms, PIFS also offers "resource" rooms dedicated entirely to hands-on learning. One of our resource rooms is our beloved science room..
