ALAN SCOFIELD

Alan is a popular and well-known dance educator, currently teaching at ROCO Dance, College of Marin, and in many public schools where he pioneered an arts education curriculum wedded to the California State Standards. His nationally acclaimed Musicality for Dancers Workshops trained many professional dancers and revealed the conscious path to artistry. In both jazz and contemporary modern, Dance Magazine acclaims: "Alan brings the heart of contemporary dance to life in a technically solid, musically aware and joyously expressive class." He has been on the faculty of the San Francisco Ballet School, Sacramento Ballet, Les Ballet Jazz du Montreal, Steps NY, the National Dance Institute and Regional Dance America. His teaching draws from a rich and diverse background on the Broadway stage, from Alvin Ailey Dance Center, the Jose Limon Co. and local legends such as Ed Mock, Nontsizi Cayou, Debra Brooks Vaughn and Alonzo King. Becca Rozell

Becca Rozell was born in Juneau, AK where she began dancing and continued at Skidmore College where she graduated with honors in dance. Since college she has lived in Boston and NYC, teaching at studios including; Peridance in NYC and The Boston Conservatory and Jeannette Neill Dance studio in Boston. She has worked with companies such as Nicola Hawkins, Andrew Janetti, Vanessa Paige and continues to work with Boston based Weber Dance. She moved to the Bay Area in 2008 where she now teaches at Roco and is an artist with Performing Arts Workshop. She also presents her work in the Bay Area and dances with Dance Ceres. Emily Herrmann

Emily Herrmann is a student at Tam High and has been dancing for over 10 years. She is part of RoCo's youth company Body Language. She also trained under Ayana Yoneksa where she discovered her passion for working with the youth. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family and trying new things.

JASEN VALDEZ

Jessica Adams

Jessica Adams has been a San Francisco-based dancer, choreographer and teacher since 1995. She holds a BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts, and since 2000 has been studying and teaching conscious fitness modalities. She is certified in Pilates, GYROTONIC® method and Yamuna® Body Rolling. Jessica has been practicing yoga for 30 years, centering her dance teaching.Her passion for dance started at a very young age. It wasn't until college, when she met one of her most influential dance teachers, Kay Fulton, that she took on the challenge to pursue her dance career more seriously. She loves to dance as a means for creative expression, is moved by inspirational music, and incorporates inversions in her dances, influenced by her years as a gymnast.Jessica's choreographic work has been produced in many dance festivals and showcases, including summerfest/dance, ODC's Pilot and Flight programs, Vision Series and self-produced works including collaboration with Megan Nicely. Jessica has worked and collaborated with Rapt Performance Group, Joe Goode Performance Group, Kim Epifano/Epiphany Productions, Scott Wells and Dancers, Maxine Moreman, Dana Lawton, Kersti Grunditz and others.Jessica's teaching style is influenced by Joe Goode, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Ellie Klopp and Janice Garrett, along with her own desire to inspire dancers to find joy in moving. Her modern dance class stems from her love of being inverted with an interest in building strong technique and expansive movement. She finds inspiration in the human body and cares deeply about alignment to prevent injury. Jessica shares her expertise with all her students in hopes to inspire, motivate them to learn and find their passion for dance.She is the founder of Enchanted Ridge Dance Retreat, which focuses on bringing dance artists and enthusiasts in touch with nature while dancing. She co-teaches ERDR with Dana Lawton every summer in the mountains of Northern California. Dancers unplug, foster creativity, dance their hearts out to live accompaniment by acclaimed musician Daniel Berkman, all while building a supportive community. Mary Sherman

Mary Sherman is a certified exercise physiologist. She holds credentials from the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, the International Dance and Exercise Association, the National Sports Performance Association and the American Academy of Health Fitness Professionals and is certified in rehab exercise prescription. She has worked on the California Governor's Council on Fitness. Her work has been cited in Allure, Self, Fitness Now, Studio Dance Review and City Sports. She has over 35 years teaching experience. Masha Savushkina

Masha Savushkina was born and raised in Russia. She graduated from one of the best colleges of Russia- Moscow College of Art (modern choreography department) where she studied ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, tap dance, folk dance, composition and staging of a performance. Founded in 1993 by professional dancer Annie Rosenthal Parr, RoCo programs 175 classes weekly for adults and youth. In their two locations within Marin County, RoCo attracts the Bay Areas finest instructors and master teachers. Classes include all levels of Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, Breaking, Brazilian, Zumba, Pilates and more. Performances are held 4-6 times annually at Marin Center and RoCo's performance space in Fairfax.

STACEY PRINTZ

Artistic director of the Printz Dance Project (PDP) and Bay Area based choreographer, dancer and educator, Stacey received her sociology and dance degrees from UC Irvine. In addition to teaching at Alonzo King's Lines Dance Center she has been/is on staff at ACT (American Conservatory Theatre -MFA program), St. Mary's College, Sonoma State University and has taught classes and workshops for Universities and studios across the U.S. -including classes in New York (at Broadway Dance, NYU, and Peri Dance), Memphis, Los Angeles (UCLA, El Camino College), Utah, Kentucky, Idaho, Colorado and more. Internationally she has taught in Curacao, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, Lithuania, Ireland and Italy. Her show, Hover Space, premiered to high praise, packed houses and reviewers saying, "With a talented cast, unique concept and inventive movement, Hover Space is a slam dunk." And "the ‘hovering' second stage was brilliant". Her company has performed in San Francisco for 12 years, and has toured across the nation and internationally in Russia, Lithuania, and Ireland.
