The Rotary Club of Des Moines was founded in 1911 and is Des Moines' oldest and one of the largest Rotary Clubs in Iowa. The Rotary Club of Des Moines is part of Rotary International, a not-for-profit worldwide organization that proves every day that it's one of the most influential humanitarian service organizations. The mission of Rotary is to provide service to others, to promote high ethical standards and to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders... Members of The Rotary Club of Des Moines provide financial support for educational and charitable activities through The Rotary Club of Des Moines Foundation. Created in 1982, the Foundation's financial strength was greatly enhanced shortly after the beginning of the 21st century with the establishment of a $1 million endowment made possible by the generous donations of Club members.
