Scan was founded in 1980 by Mogens Libenholt, a young Dane working in the Scandinavian furniture industry. He set his sights on Southern California and opened a small store in Mira Mesa. He imported furniture from Denmark, Norway and Sweden, hence our name, Scan Furniture House. Our early success allowed us to move to a larger location on Morena Boulevard in 1982. Twenty-five years later, we relocated to Miramar Road, and then to our current location on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard...
