Successful buildings must, in my opinion, respond to a myriad of important factors including client requirements, site characteristics, and climate. In addition to these pragmatic concerns are the ways in which buildings respond to our yearning for connections with special places. The most thoughtfully planned and carefully crafted buildings we inhabit can enrich our lives, inspire us, and create a sense of wonder.
