Brooke LaNasa has been the Director of Contemporary Worship at St. John since July of 2020, and she took over as Parish Administrator in August of 2022.
Brooke grew up in York, PA, and attended Central York High School. She graduated in 2020 from Messiah College (now University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Worship.
Brooke has always loved music and spent her childhood and adolescence in every choir she could find, including the York County Honors Choirs, and the various choirs at the Lutheran church she grew up in. In college, she was part of several music ensembles including the Worship Community Core Leaders and Academic Year SEVEN (Messiah's traveling worship group). Through those leadership positions, she found a love for administrative work as well, and is eager to use her talents in both roles here at St. John.
In her free time, Brooke enjoys learning about animals and God's other Creations, socializing with friends, crafting, and spending time with her bearded dragon, Cera.

Chris Hanes became the Ministry Assistant at St. John Lutheran Church in January 2019. Chris grew up in York, and worked for the Northeastern School District for 19 years. She retired in December 2018.
Chris has a husband, a son, and a daughter who now reside in heaven with the Lord. She also has a daughter, three grandchildren, and a Boston Terrier.

Denise Wright became the Director of Spiritual Growth for St. John Lutheran Church in August 2005. Denise was born and raised in Hamlin, NY, a small town on the shores of Lake Ontario.
While in 1st Grade she knew that she wanted to be a Lutheran School Teacher; Denise fulfilled that dream by attending Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, and then teaching for 26 years. During her teaching years, she enjoyed teaching children at a variety of levels from Pre-school to Middle School.
Beginning in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, Denise worked with a retreat ministry called ACTS. The weekends of worship, learning, and fellowship brought together many different people from various areas and backgrounds.
Denise's passion, whether teaching children, planning and leading retreats, or working at St. John, has always been the spiritual nurture of others, helping others to know the love of Jesus in a very real way. One of Denise's favorite Bible verses is: Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

Gavin Meinz began serving as the DCE (Director of Christian Education) Intern of Community Care at St. John Lutheran Church in June 2023. Gavin grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he developed a love for the outdoors and a growing passion for ministry. Gavin attended the DCE program at Concordia University Irvine, and graduated with a degree in Theological Studies and Christian Leadership Administration. His internship at St. John will complete his formal education within his program.
During his time at CUI, Gavin met his wife Livia. They have been happily married since August of 2022.
Gavin believes that the primary purpose of Christian Education is to give all ages exposure, teaching and instruction, and application regarding Scripture and Christian living. The scope of Christian Education is from the cradle to the grave, and emphasizes the integration of Christian Education in the daily life of the home and family. God's people can best care for their community when rooted and established in the identity of Christ, which is nurtured through Christian Education.

Joanne McCue became the Director of the York Compassion Center in June 2023. Joanne grew up in Illinois and lived in Missouri, British Columbia, Canada and Connecticut before moving to Pennsylvania in 2014. Joanne worked as a fabric store manager and bank teller before retiring in 2004.
Joanne is married to Gary. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. They have been members of St. John since 2014. Joanne is a member of the Fellowship Committee, Altar Guild, and St. John Crafters.
Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 23.
Mike Pearl joined the St. John Lutheran Church staff as a part-time Audio/Video Specialist for worship services in January 2019.
Mike was born and grew up in York. He graduated from William Penn Senior High School and received an Associate Degree from York Junior College (now York College of Pennsylvania). Mike worked for over 30 years in commercial printing and 8 years in business continuity and disaster recovery planning in the insurance industry. He retired in 2013.
Mike has a daughter and son-in-law who live in North Carolina, and he enjoys visiting them as much as possible.
Mike has been a St. John member for over 35 years.
Pastor Cosgrove received a BS in Business Administration from Shippensburg University in PA in 1983, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, in 2005. Pastor Cosgrove and Jackie have two sons: Kevin (born 1991) and Jonathan (born 1998). His personal mission statement is, "To equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Eph. 4:12).

Rob Hunter became the Assistant Director at the York Compassion Center in May 2021. Rob grew up in York, lived in Illinois, and Connecticut. He graduated from Norwich Tech with a degree in Electronics.
Rob has been at St. John since 2017, and is an engaged member of the church. He enjoys hiking, playing video games, and collecting toys.
Rob is married to Heather, and has a son, 2 daughters, 2 dogs, and a rabbit.
His favorite Bible verse is: Romans 12:2, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind."
