Mrs. Garbacz has been teaching for over 10 years, starting with 2nd grade here at St. Fabian in 2003. She left to start her family but returned as a Learning Teacher Specialist in 2012. After doing that for 2 years, she left and taught 2nd grade for 8 years before coming back to teach 2nd grade at St. Fabian this year. Her husband is an engineer at Ford Motor Company and they have two teenaged boys, Christopher and Nathan.
Ms. Fichtner has been working in the Catholic School System since 1987. She has taught at St. John the Baptist Catholic in Dearborn Heights and Christ the King Catholic in Detroit. During these years Ms. Fichtner has taught Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, Sixth and Seventh Grade. Her favorite grade is second grade!
