SUMMERLAND DENTAL CENTRE - Key Persons
Dr. McIntosh, a self-proclaimed "Navy Brat," grew up on both coasts of Canada. His Bachelor of Science (Honours) and dental degree were completed at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Dr. McIntosh has the distinction of graduating first in the class of 1987. After five years of dental practice in Nova Scotia, Dr. McIntosh moved to Summerland, BC, where he has practiced ever since.
Dr. McIntosh continues advanced levels of study in various aspects of dentistry. He is currently an active member of the Kois Centre for Advanced Dental Learning in Seattle, Washington, as well as a long-standing member of F.O.R.C.E orthodontics based in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. McIntosh is also an active member of PRSS (Predictable Restorative and Surgical Solutions) with Dr. Norm Ickert in Abbotsford, BC. He continues to take advanced training in implant surgery and is an active member of their surgical residency.
Dr. Suzuki obtained his Zoology degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Dr Michelle Scheepers grew up in South Africa in the port city of Durban. She graduated from Medical School in 2003 and practised rural medicine for a number of years before doing her post graduate Specialization in Anesthesiology. She was top of her class, graduating in 2011. Her clinical interest is in surgical prehabilitation and assisting people their optimize health preoperatively. She is actively involved in the UBC teaching program and has also done further studies in Quality Improvement Science. She graduated from the BCPSQC Clinician Academy in 2018, and from IHI as an Improvement Advisor in 2021. She is currently an MBA Candidate with RRU. She and her husband emigrated to Canada in 2014 with their two children. They own and operate an apple orchard in Summerland and enjoy kayaking, hiking and camping as a family.
