Chris joined the Board of Trustees in June 2019. Chris is a business executive with more than 35 years of management and engineering experience. He and his wife, Dawn, are long-time Summit County locals with 3 children.

David joined the Board in June 2021. A retired executive from Ohio, David has been a homeowner in Summit County since 1998. David has a strong background in finance and has served on numerous non-profit boards.

Don is one of the community's strongest leaders since coming to Summit County permanently over twelve years ago, after retiring as a lawyer in Washington D.C. He and his wife Susan Propper started the Mountain Scholars program at Colorado Mountain College that provides academic support and mentoring to first generation college students, and he has personally mentored many students. In addition, Don was on the Board of Directors of the Family Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) and served as President of the Board for five years. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Peak Health Alliance, the initiative started by the Summit Foundation to provide affordable health care. Don is a prolific fundraiser and has a knack for getting people involved in the community. He and his wife Susan (a former trustee of the Summit Foundation) live in Breckenridge and enjoy hiking and traveling.

Dustin joined the Board in 2018. A Colorado native, he previously played for the Chicago Bears after attending school at Wake Forest University. He is currently the President and General Manager at Copper Mountain Resort.

Ellen Reid is the Executive Director of the Summit Foundation, she brings extensive nonprofit leadership experience and a deep commitment to the Summit County community. Previously, she served as Director of Community Impact at Breckenridge Grand Vacations and spent 16 years as Executive Director of the Keystone Science School, where she transformed the organization's reach and impact.
With a background in education, Ellen has taught middle school math and science, emphasizing hands-on learning and community engagement. Her leadership experience, passion for youth education, and dedication to Summit County make her a natural fit for the Summit Foundation.

Jim Beckmann is a retired President and CEO and was most recently with Ascension in St. Louis, which is the largest Catholic healthcare system in the United States. Jim brings skills and expertise in strategy, operations, board governance, and leadership, among others. Jim and his wife have been in Summit County for two years, and he has served on the Board of Directors of the Community Care Clinic since 2021.

Josh joined the Board in December of 2020. Josh serves as Director of Colorado Creative Industries (CCI), the state's arts agency, at the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) at the State of Colorado. He has called Summit County home since 2002.

Julie joined the Board in June 2018. She has lived in Summit County since 1983 and in 1991 opened Key to the Rockies Real Estate with her husband, Mike.

Kate joined the Summit Foundation in September 2021. She comes to us from the Summit Community Care Clinic, where she began her non-profit career six years ago as the Executive Assistant and Development Coordinator. She has experience in database administration, events, and networking among the community.
Kate moved to Summit County in late 2013 after graduating from Western Michigan University. She enjoys attending live music, snowboarding, yoga, hiking, and biking around our beautiful county in her free time.

Kelly joined the Board in June 2010. She is the Director of Employee Experience at Copper Mountain Resort. A long-time local, Kelly is also a supporter of, and actress for, the Lake Dillon Theatre Company.

Meg Lass has been in Summit County since 1973. Her marketing firm, Wilson Lass, worked with The Summit Foundation in the 90's and coined the tagline "Soul of the Summit" which is still in use today. Meg serves on the Board of Directors of the Breckenridge Tourism Office and helped establish the Breckenridge Film Festival. Returning to The Summit Foundation Board of Directors is full circle for Meg, having served on the Board from 1995-2011, including being President of the Board for two years. Meg lives in Breckenridge with her husband David.

Peggy joined the Board in June 2019. The former CEO of the Professional Ski Industry Association -American Association of Snowboard Instructors and long-time Summit County local, Peggy has a long history of community involvement, including being an active volunteer for the Summit School District.

Robbins joined the Board in December 2020. Robbins has worked as the assistant Golf Pro at Breckenridge Golf Club and currently works for Breckenridge Grand Vacations. He is a dedicated philanthropist and long-time local.

Steve joined the Board in December 2019 with an executive career in technology-based businesses. He has a special interest in youth and serves as a Pre-Collegiate mentor at Summit High School.

Dr. Byrd has been the Superintendent of Summit School District since 2022, leading the School District of over 3,500 students in nine schools with over 600 employees. Dr. Byrd is a strong leader in education, moving to Summit County after being the Executive Director of Teach for America in Washington and has had a career with various education leadership roles and teaching positions. Dr. Byrd has a passion in providing educational opportunities for all children, and he has driven many education initiatives particularly for immigrants or students who have English as their second language. He is also a leader in increasing opportunities for non-traditional learners and Career Tech, and he is partnering with The Summit Foundation on Project Thrive, our after-school enrichment initiative. Dr. Byrd and his wife live in Summit County and are enjoying everything our beautiful community has to offer.

Tony Cammarata (affectionately known as "Tony C.") is the Director of Planning and Development for Arapahoe Basin where he leads community and government relations, sustainability, risk and safety, and guest services. A long-time Summit County resident, Tony has been at A-Basin for over twenty-five years where he started as a lift operator, became a ski patroller and then management, Tony has served as the Chair of the Summit County Medical Services Board for over a decade and is currently on the advisory board of the Colorado Mountain College Ski Area Operations program. Tony and his wife Julie Sutor are passionate about the big mountain challenges and life changing experiences that the Summit County community embodies.
