Jim grew up in Metro-Detroit and after spending nearly a decade living on the East Coast returned to Michigan in 2010 with his wife Lynn to raise their two children. They reside in Okemos and enjoy spending time in northern Michigan at the family cabin. Mrs. Maribeth Fletcher assists with our aftercare program for our Miracles! Maribeth has a degree from MSU in Biological Science with a minor in Physical Education. She spent her career in education, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to spend her afternoons with our students! Maribeth and her husband Jim were founding members of our Parish. She resides just down the road from Saint Martha!

Deacon, RCIA

Deacon Carl and his wife Paula Somohano moved to Okemos in 2005 and have 3 children who attended Saint Martha School. Victoria is now attending the University of Dayton, while Nicolas and Lucas are at Lansing Catholic High School. Deacon Carl was ordained in May 2015 and is currently our RCIA Director. He received a B.S. degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Cornell University and later earned M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Dayton where he met Paula. In addition to the ministry work he does here at Saint Martha, he is also a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University. Deacon Carl is a large part of our Parish life ministries helping those who have been divorced to receive the graces and blessings that come from working through the nullity process. Andreas was born and raised in Germany and feels that growing up in the center of Europe was formative, as it came with the gracious opportunity to travel to many neighboring countries and meet its peoples. As a young adult, he traveled to the US, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and a teaching degree in Secondary Social Studies and Biology. He has been with us since 2016. Andreas is married to his wife, Corey, and they have 2 daughters, Sonora and Rose.

Mrs. Andrea Patton is our Miracles' School Principal! Andrea has been involved in Catholic education for 30+ years, 22 of them as a teacher at right here! She has received the Gifted Educated Award twice in her career and feels grateful to work in such a caring, spirit filled community. Beginning in the 2019-20 school year, she happily accepted the role of School principal and is looking forward to leading our Miracles into many more successful years. Andrea is married to her husband Doug and they have 2 adult children, Samantha and Connor. They like to travel, walk their dog, Ollie, and spend time on their pontoon!

Mrs. Ann Williams

Mrs. Ann Williams assists our Miracles who need additional help with reading and math! Ann is a graduate of Harry Hill High School in Lansing and knew at a young age that she wanted to be a teacher, following in the footsteps of her grandmother and both parents. After high school, she attended Lansing Community College and then transferred to the College of Education at Michigan State University where she received her bachelor degree in Elementary Education. In 2010, she also received her Masters degree in Educational Technology at MSU. She is very proud to be a third generation Spartan and has always been an avid fan! Ann retired from public education in July of 2020 after 32 years of teaching 3rd grade. She loves teaching and working with students, and is excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with students at Saint Martha and being a part of our awesome community! Ann resides in Haslett with her husband Steve, where they enjoy spending time with their extended family, traveling, biking, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and going for walks together. She is a member of the Lansing Sailing Club and enjoys sailing with family and friends. Along with her 2 brothers and 1 sister, she is an owner of the Family Tree Cafe in DeWitt, where she enjoys the responsibility of changing the decorations and decor for the various seasons and holidays.

Mrs. Anne Tahaney

Anne is a lifelong resident of the Lansing area, and graduated from Okemos High School and MSU. Upon completing her degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management, she worked in hotels in the Washington, D.C. and Orlando areas before returning to Michigan to pursue a degree in Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Teaching from MSU. Anne has been a parishioner here since returning to Michigan in 1991 and one of our teachers since 1996. Her love of teaching history is often combined with her love of baking. Middle School students can frequently be seen in the kitchen at school making dishes popular during the colonial era or World War II. Anne is married and has 3 grown step-children.

Carolyn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Elementary Education and holds a Master's degree in Instructional Development. Carolyn has 3 adult children - Ann, Rick and James, and 8 grandchildren. (And her daughter-in-law Mrs. Jennifer Hall teaches our Preschool class!) She also has 2 Himalayan cats named Timmie and Chase. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Char has been in Catholic education for over three decades, and is so excited to be a part of our community! Char is a lifelong Michigan resident and lives outside of Owosso on a small farm. She enjoys reading, quilting, gardening and camping by the beautiful lakes of Michigan. She is married to her husband, Bill, and together they have a son, Arthur, a daughter-in-law, Gabby, and a daughter, Kateri.

She later attended Central Michigan University to earn her Master's degree in Educational Technology. Kara is married and resides in Holt with her husband John. Together they have 2 adult sons, who are Saint Martha School alumni!

Liz was born in Buffalo, NY, and attended Catholic Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. She received her Bachelors degree from Wells College and her Masters in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. In addition to teaching Art at here, Liz has worked as an artist-in-residence for Williamston Community Schools, REACH Studio Art Center, the Artists Council of Greater Lansing, and the Wharton Center's Art Integration program. Liz lives in Williamston and is married with 3 children and 1 grandson.

Rebecca holds a Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in Music Performance (violin) from Michigan State University. She has been teaching strings in a school setting for over thirteen years, and has taught privately for almost thirty years. She is a certified Suzuki violin instructor, being the first recipient of the John Kendall scholarship for Suzuki training. Rebecca has been married for eighteen years and has four (very musical) children.

She retired from Okemos Schools two years ago, but decided she wasn't ready to leave the classroom. She is excited to be here where she can share God's love with her students everyday, and feels blessed to be a part of such an incredible School and community. Mrs. Wendy Muzzatti was one of our substitute teacher for the past two years and was thrilled to come onboard in 2022 as the Technology teacher for our Kindergarten through 8th grade Miracles! After graduating from Lansing Catholic, Wendy studied Public Relations and Marketing and has run the business side of her husband Jason's successful Just Goalies hockey camps for 25 years. Using this business experience and extensive computer knowledge to teach the students all they need to know about computer literacy, online safety and maximizing their computer use to stay competitive with the ever changing Technology world. Wendy and Jason are the proud parents of three Saint Martha School graduates, Dryden, Sutter, and most recently Bailey (class of 2021). She and her family enjoy all things soccer and hockey! She and Jason live in Okemos and have been active members of our Parish community for over 23 years.
