BOOKMARK - Key Persons
Ann Beals, publisher and editor of The Bookmark, is a lifelong Christian Scientist and former member of The Mother Church. She was at one time a member of a branch church in Decatur, Georgia, serving in many capacities. Later she became listed as a practitioner in The Christian Science Journal. She also wrote religious articles for the Christian Science periodicals, and for the Christian Science Monitor.
During the years that Mrs. Beals was active in the Church, she became greatly concerned over the need for better healing work. She was convinced that more advanced writings on Christian Science were needed to insure the future of the movement. Around 1980 she learned of many profound papers and books on Christian Science that were not being published by the Church. Convinced that these should be published, she started The Bookmark. Today, The Bookmark publishes one of the finest collection of writings on Christian Science found anywhere in the world.
