Alicia M. Dr. Eby completed her internship and residency through the Kresge Eye Center at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she also received her medical degree. Dr. Eby completed her undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Throughout her years of education and training, Dr. Eby has been actively involved in many leadership roles that include Chief Resident at Wayne State University, working with 20+ ophthalmology residents. She was also the Chapter President for the World Health Student Organization while at Wayne State University. She held the position of President for the Aesculapians Honor Society and the American Medical Women's Association.

Dr. Eby is originally from Ontario, Canada. She has recently settled into her new home in Traverse City with her husband, Axel and new baby boy, Grant. Dr. Eby is loving both living and working in beautiful northern Michigan, where she likes to get outside and enjoy nature - especially capturing it with her passion for photography.
Amy S. Ranger, MD grew up in Metropolitan Detroit, the youngest of seven children, and is a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School in Farmington Hills. She then studied Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering at The University of Michigan, with research semesters at UC Berkeley and Northwestern University. She attended the university of Michigan medical school and residency at William Beaumont Hospital. Dr. Ranger has been in private practice in Traverse City, MI since 2000, focusing on Oculoplastic and eyelid surgery, Cataract and Refractive surgery, as well as medical diseases of the eye, including diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye.
Dr. Ranger is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of Michigan State Medical Society and Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
She and her husband, William, have raised three children to enjoy the outdoors, be informed and active citizens, work hard at school and anything else they commit to. They enjoy skiing, sailing, hiking, and traveling together!
Bradley S. Hochstetler, MD is a sub-specialty trained eye surgeon who practices comprehensive ophthalmology. He specializes in corneal disease, corneal transplant surgery (including DSAEK), dry eye syndrome management, corneal infections and Fuchs corneal dystrophy.
Dr. Hochstetler was born and raised in northwest Ohio. He received a bachelor of science from Mount Vernon Nazarene College and his doctorate (MD) from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His internship was completed at Andrews Air Force Base, followed by residency training at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, finally a sub-specialty fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Jodi M. Hummel, OD earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2001 and has a BS degree in Applied Biology from Ferris State University. Dr. Hummel returned to northern Michigan in 2007 after service as an optometrist in Rochester, New York.
At Traverse City Eye, Dr. Hummel provides primary vision care such as prescriptions for eye glasses and contact lenses, including examining the patient's eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.
Dr. Hummel is state licensed and also has licensure through the State of Michigan in therapeutic medications which allows her to prescribe medications for glaucoma, eye infections and other eye conditions.
Justin R. Tannir, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist practicing at both Traverse City Eye's locations in Traverse City and Kalkaska, Michigan (located on the second floor of Kalkaska Memorial Hospital).
Dr. Tannir completed his residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit and continued his training there for his fellowship in glaucoma. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his years of education and training, Dr. Tannir has been actively involved in clinical research in both cataract and glaucoma. He has been an attending physician and clinical professor at the Kresge Eye Institute as well as the John D. Dingell Veteran's Hospital in Detroit Michigan. He has been at the forefront of innovation in advanced cataract and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Tannir travels the country as a guest speaker discussing modern management and surgical techniques for glaucoma.
Dr. Tannir commented, "It has been a personal dream of mine to provide quality patient care and clinical education in a community like this one, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to establish deep, lasting bonds of trust with all of you."
Dr. Tannir is originally from Troy, Michigan. He is an avid soccer player. Dr. Tannir is looking forward to living and working in beautiful northern Michigan, where he enjoys virtually all outdoor activities.
Kathryn A. Cizek, OD is licensed as an Optometrist with the State of Michigan and is a member of the Michigan and American Optometric Association. Her licensure includes providing prescriptions for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pharmaceutical agents. She received Fellowship status in 1999 with the American Academy of Optometry.
A graduate of Indiana University, Dr. Cizek received a BS in Visual Science and achieved her Doctor of Optometry in 1986.

Kevin Leahy, was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan and completed his undergraduate degree in Vision Science at Ferris State University. He graduated with highest distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry. He completed his residency training in ocular disease at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.
During his time at Michigan College of Optometry, Dr. Leahy was the liaison for the American Academy of Optometry, participated in the Michigan Optometric Private Practice Association, and was a member of Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH). This allowed him to attend a mission trip to Dominica during his 3rd professional year and provide eyecare to hundreds of patients in need. Dr. Leahy is hoping to carry this passion forward into future mission trips.
Dr. Leahy is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and the American Diabetes Association. His professional interests include ocular disease, low vision, contact lenses, and primary vision care.
In his free time Dr. Leahy enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing the drums, and spending time with his fiancé, and dachshund, Yoda. He looks forward to returning to his hometown to provide exceptional care to the Northwest Michigan communities.
