A lawyer with more than 25 years' transactional, litigation and regulatory experience on both sides of the Atlantic, Lothar has a full command of English and German and extensive experience translating complex legal texts from German into English. Born in Vancouver, BC, he grew up in Seattle and is a native speaker of English. He has also spoken German since childhood. He received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 1987. After clerking for US District Judge George Revercomb in Washington, DC, he worked in the Washington and Frankfurt offices of Debevoise & Plimpton, a preeminent international law firm, where his practice areas included mergers & acquisitions, litigation, securities regulation and enforcement, telecommunications and corporate law. Most recently, Lothar has worked as a freelance attorney with Clifford Chance LLP on internal corporate investigations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
