TRINITY

This course provides continued practice in developmental reading and fundamental writing. Students are exposed to a variety of material: novels, short stories, nonfiction literature, poetry, and a Shakespearean play. Students will interact with and respond to the literature through a variety of writing assignments and research-based projects. Emphasis is placed on textual support in writing and the thesis statement. Students will continue developing research skills, incorporating research into writing, and documenting sources using the MLA (Modern Language Association) style. Oral communication is emphasized through presenting speeches, in-class collaboration, and class responses. Technology will be used as a means to enhance written communication and collaborate on writing projects.
