A True Floridian

Born in Tampa, Florida, in 1946, Gary has a degree from the College of Business at the University of South Florida and a law degree from Stetson University College of Law. While attending Stetson, he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Law Review and Phi Delta Phi. Upon graduation from Stetson, he became an Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of Florida, and served in that capacity from 1973 to 1977. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he was responsible for the prosecution of complex criminal cases and received the Attorney General's "Outstanding Performance in Trial Practice Award". In 1977, he entered private practice. Gary has participated as defense counsel in many complex federal and state criminal cases. Gary defended one of the largest criminal cases identified as "The Bank of Credit and Commerce." This case is featured at the Federal Courthouse, Tampa in the "Historical Exhibits" of major cases tried in the Federal Middle District of Florida. Gary in 2010 completed a successful defense in the U.S. v. Singer, et al. case in South Carolina arising out of charges of conspiracy to commit securities fraud.

Recently in 2010 Gary was inducted in the "Stetson College of Law Hall of Fame."

Ronald P. Hanes

Ronald P. Hanes is a partner with Trombley & Hanes, P.A. and has been with the firm since 1994. Ron has been a lawyer for over 30 years and for the last 20 years has represented clients facing federal grand jury investigations and trials, state criminal charges, and complex federal and state civil litigation. Ron was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has lived in Tampa since 1977. Ron received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, and law degree from the Florida State University College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and was an intern for Florida Supreme Court Justice Ben F. Overton. Upon graduation from law school, Ron was an Assistant State Attorney in Tampa, Florida, for over 10 years trying numerous high profile homicide cases, racketeering & trafficking cases, and presenting cases to grand juries. Ron is a member of both the Florida Bar and the Colorado Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Federal Courts in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Since 1995, Ron has been an "AV Preeminent" rated attorney, the highest rating available for both legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell. Wes E. Trombley

Wes Trombley is a partner with Trombley & Hanes, P.A., concentrating in the areas of both criminal and civil litigation. Wes is a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, and graduated from Jesuit High School, the University of South Florida with a Business Marketing Degree, and Stetson University College of Law. As a law student and prior to becoming a member of the Florida Bar, Wes served in the 13 th Judicial Circuit for Hillsborough County, Florida as a Judicial Intern and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Intern Prosecutor and he served for the 6 th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida where he wrote appeals for the Appellate Division. In 2003 Wes began his legal career as a prosecutor for the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office where he personally tried both misdemeanor and felony jury trials in county and circuit court for three years prior to joining Trombley and Hanes, P.A. As a partner at Trombley & Hanes, P.A. Wes continues to litigate and has experience handling matters in both State and Federal court. Wes has represented clients and handled matters in federal and state courts involving a wide range of white collar crime allegations such as Healthcare Fraud, Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, Conspiracy, Tax Fraud, Embezzlement, Mortgage Fraud, Defense Contracting Fraud, Insurance Fraud, and related business crimes and offenses. He also defends clients against allegations related to Public Corruption, Drug Crimes, and DUIs. During his practice Wes has represented a number of high profile athletes from the MLB, NFL, NBA, and the NHL in both Hillsborough and Pinellas County State Courts.
