In 1989, Bowman began her Unity journey with Unity of Houston and discovered her favorite Unity spiritual practice was "the burning bowl" on New Years' Eve. Within a few months, Unity's prosperity principles …"ask and it is given" … became evident as she met John Kell, from Richmond VA. It's clearly a spirit-driven love story - ask her or John about it.
Professionally, Bowman is a talent and organizational development leader with Ernst & Young (EY). Prior to EY, Bowman held human resources roles in banking, trade associations and her own consulting business. Over her 30+ year career, she's worked in both small (<10 employees) and large organizations (100,000+) leading leadership and team development, change management, coaching and learning initiatives.
Over the years, Bowman has experienced many Unity churches, but Unity of Fairfax is where has deepest roots. She shares her spiritual gifts through the Retreats ministry, AV team (prior to moving during COVID), Platform Assistant periodically and was instrumental in designing the UniSync team who managed Unity of Fairfax event calendar pre-COVID. As such, she brings to the Board of Trustees business acumen, human relations dynamics experience and her spiritual "I am - ness."
In addition to her soulmate John, Bowman has 4 sons, 2 grandsons. She lives in Williamsburg VA; loves Downton Abbey reruns and reflecting by the water. Her personal purpose is: to invigorate ingenuity so others discover their wisdom.
