Woodside Cemetery was established in 1891 on 100 acres of beautiful land in the heart of Middletown, OH. This land was selected for its well-drained, porous soils making Woodside Cemetery one of the driest cemeteries in the area. Subsequent purchases of land increased the acreage to 135 and today the cemetery boasts 100 acres of Sections plotted for traditional burials the additional 35 set aside for future burials... In 2001 Woodside added "Arboretum" to its name with roughly 2000 trees and shrubs planted. An arboretum, by Webster's definition, is a place where trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants are cultivated for scientific and educational purposes. Woodside's Board of Trustees is gratified that students from elementary through college age come to our Arboretum to study science and botany and use the arboretum as a resource. Our Arboretum's mission is to teach the young and old about the plants and trees that flourish in our area and give individuals an idea of what a mature plant..
