Alison Briggs has been with the My AZ Lawyers since 2016. She serves as the client services manager and an attorney and combines her passion for helping people with the practice of law.
Alison was born and educated in Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University Of Massachusetts- Amherst where she was the 2007 commencement speaker. Ms. Briggs also holds a Master of Social Work degree from Salem State University and is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (Massachusetts).Play
Alison has worked with children and families in many capacities since completing her undergraduate work. She spent many years serving families in inner city Boston as a clinical social worker with the Home for Little Wanderers. She moved to Arizona in 2013 where she was an investigator with the Department of Child Safety (formerly Child Protective Services) before working for Southwest Human Development as a Family Therapist. While attending Arizona Summit Law School, Arizona continued her clinical work in an inpatient psychiatric facility.
Law was a natural career progression for Alison given her passion for helping others and for serving the under served. Alison understands that people need and seek lawyers when they need help and is compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others. She is not scared to fight for her clients and feels it her privilege to take on a person's legal matter.
Alison pursued her Master's of Social Work while working full time at the District Attorney's office. Two to three evenings a week she would leave the courthouse and head to class or her field placement. She completed two comprehensive field placements as part of her Master's program. First she served as community support worker with Bridge Over Troubled Waters, manning the mobile outreach van, in the evenings after work, providing services to at risk, homeless youth. Her second field placement was with her future employer, the Home For Little Wanderers in the Safe at Home Program.
