BAYSWATER

It was wonderful to see so many tamariki back at school this week looking well rested and refreshed - especially since we have a very busy term ahead of us!... Literacy learning has started well. Room 9 have been reading their shared text - Angelica Sprocket's Pockets, by Quentin Blake. Our focus has been on our imaginative writing using our punctuation, capital and lower case letters and checking our writing makes sense. Room 10 has been reading Superworm, by Julia Donaldson. We have focused on the four types of sentences - statement, question, command and exclamation. In Room 7 and 8 we have been writing sentences based on our story Sione's First Walk to School, adding to our sentences using "but" and "and"... A reminder that as it is now term 4 students do need to be wearing hats in the playground (even with it still being a bit cloudy at the moment). We have been lenient on hats this week, but from next week if they do not have a hat they will have to remain on the deck during..
