Emerald ash borer (EAB) is a small, metallic green beetle that kills ash trees. The emerald ash borer is native to Asia and came to the United States around 2002. It moved from eastern United States to the Midwest through firewood, sawmill logs, and nursery plants. The larvae feed on the inner bark of ash trees, preventing delivery of water and nutrients to the tree, causing ash trees to die.

Hai is the first Iowan born in Vietnam elected to any political office in Iowa. Hai has been a resident of Coralville since 2002. She works as Community Projects Coordinator with the Coralville Community Food Pantry where she coordinates hot meal programming and works with a team to provide food assistance for thousands of Coralville residents. Her family includes her husband and four children. Together, they spend their free time exploring the outdoors and volunteering in the community. Her interests include cooking and sharing food, hiking, foraging, camping, dancing, and gardening.

Laurie has been a resident of Coralville since 1984. She is a staff member of a faith-based athletic organization at The University of Iowa, where she and her husband Jim have worked side-by-side for over 30 years. Her family includes her husband, Jim; three children and their spouses; and eleven grandchildren. In addition to spending time with family, her special interests include cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, biking, and downhill skiing.
Dr. Knudson has a BSE in Biomedical Engineering, a MD, and a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics, all from the University of Iowa. He did his residency in Clinical Pathology at Washington University in St Louis. He is a professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, and is the Medical Director of the DeGowin blood bank and donor center at UIHC. His family includes his wife, Beth Rydstrom Knudson, and two daughters. His hobbies include cooking, biking, golfing, and attending sporting events, including the Iowa Heartlanders.
Rich Vogelzang, a native Iowan, has been a Coralville resident since 2016. He earned his BS from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) in 1975.
Rich is a former paramedic with Johnson County Ambulance Service. He has been in the real estate business since 1979. He has served in leadership positions in the Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS (ICAAR), Iowa Association of REALTORS (IAR), Greater Rochester (NY) Association of REALTORS, and the New York State Association of REALTORS. He is a mediator and an ombudsman for IAR, serves on the IAR Professional Standards Committee, is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management (IOM designation), and has numerous professional real estate designations. Until the end of 2022, Rich was the Managing Broker for Lepic-Kroeger REALTORS.
His family includes his wife, Anita; three children; and seven grandchildren.
Royce Peterson has been a Coralville resident for over 30 years. He is a lead representative for North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, and is a member and financial secretary for Carpenters Local Union 1260 in Iowa City. He has been a Union carpenter for over 25 years. In his role as a labor leader, he serves as a chairperson on both the Apprenticeship Fund and the Health & Welfare Fund, and is a board member of the Center for Workers Justice and the Foundation for the Trades. Royce is a longtime member of the Coralville American Legion Post #721 .
His family includes his wife, Lori Wenman-Peterson, and his two sons. Royce enjoys riding motorcycles, cooking, camping, and volunteering in his community.

Scott Larson was appointed City Engineer effective April 1, 2021. Prior to that, he had served as Assistant City Engineer since 1995. Scott has worked for the City since 1993, when he was hired as an engineering intern.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa.
