DARAJA KENYA

Biogas has been around since the late 19th century and in Kenya since the late 1950s. The uptake of the technology has however been low in many places and so is in Kenya. There are several historical reasons for this, but as technology has improved, costs have been reduced, benefits have been documented, we would have hoped for a different scenario. However, that not being the case, we believe one of the main reasons is the lack of farmer involvement. For any technology to succeed, the involvement and support of the end user of any perceived benefits is important. That is what Daraja Kenya is doing... We are cooperating with research communities in both Norway and Kenya. We have established a cooperation and dialogue with Bioforsk in Norway, Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) and Egerton University in Kenya to gain support of the direction of our plans and advice on how to proceed.
