Alexander Edelman

Alexander Edelman has a passion for serving his clients' needs. He has worked with individuals, couples, and families to provide an estate plan that will protect themselves and those they love should anything happen to them. At the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law he took a broad array of estate planning classes, getting hands-on clinical experience. Edelman published a note in the Law Review and served as its Lead Online Editor. While in school he held jobs both in academic research positions and as a law clerk. Before law school, he worked as a paralegal at a local law firm. Mr. Edelman was born and raised in Kansas City with a belief in bettering the community. He has served on the board of directors of a number of local non-profits, including JVS, an organization that helps people from all walks of life find meaningful employment so that they can support themselves. Edelman has worked on every step of incorporating a non-profit and getting official recognition as a tax exempt organization. He looks forward to using his skills to serve his clients and the community for many years to come.

Katherine E. Myers

Katherine Myers is a founding partner of Edelman, Liesen & Myers L.L.P. She focuses her practice on employment law. Ms. Myers has represented hundreds of clients in a variety of employment-related claims, including claims of discrimination due to race, sex, national origin, pregnancy, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual harassment, and disability. She has also litigated numerous claims involving employment contract disputes, non-competition agreements, whistleblowing and other public policy protections, as well as wage and hour and other pay disputes. Ms. Myers also advises employers in helping to create a discrimination-free workplace. She is committed to protecting employees from injustice and discrimination in the workplace. Ms. Myers graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Kansas with an emphasis in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, and has spent time studying in Cairo, Egypt. Ms. Myers is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Association of Women Lawyers, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and KC Legal. She serves on the Missouri Trial Lawyers Care Committee, as well as the Young Lawyers Section Committee for the Missouri Bar. She is also a volunteer for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (where she serves on the Young Friends of Art Committee) and Jackson County CASA. She has served as a mentor at Gordon Parks Elementary School and as a volunteer for the Missouri Innocence Project.

Sarah Liesen

Sarah Liesen is a founding partner of Edelman, Liesen & Myers L.L.P. Ms. Liesen is passionate about helping individuals protect their rights in the workplace. While completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Ms. Liesen worked as a research assistant for law professor David Achtenberg and was a board member of the UMKC Law Review. She also published an article for the UMKC Law Journal. Ms. Liesen focuses her practice on employment issues. Currently, Ms. Liesen is a member of the Association of Women Lawyers, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Society, the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA). Ms. Liesen is currently a board member for the NELA-KC chapter.
