Ajay Khera

Ajay oversees EngenderHealth's diverse portfolio of sexual and reproductive health and maternal and obstetric care programs in India. He brings more than 30 years of experience in adolescent and child health, obstetrics and gynecology, HIV and AIDS, and communicable diseases in India. Prior to joining EngenderHealth, he served as the Commissioner for Maternal and Child Health at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Ajay earned a doctorate of medicine in preventative and social medicine from Lady Hardinge Medical College and a diploma in gynecology and obstetrics from Maulana Azad Medical College.

Ana Aguilera

She brings over 10 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights and youth leadership programs. Ana earned a master of public health from the Boston University School of Public Health.

Denise Raquel Dunning

Job Titles:

Dr. Denise Dunning is a passionate advocate for girls, women, and young people. She is the founder and executive director of Rise Up-comprising three sister initiatives: Let Girls Lead, Champions For Change, and the Youth Champions Initiative-which has improved the lives of 7 million girls, youth, and women globally. Rise Up's impacts include the passage and implementation of national laws, programs, and funding that save the lives of women, newborns, and children, protect girls from violence, and ensure access to quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunity. Dunning has a doctor of philosophy in sociology from the University of California Berkeley and a master of public affairs from Princeton University. She also graduated summa cum laude from Duke University. Dunning teaches courses at the University of California San Francisco and also served as a Fulbright Scholar in Honduras. She previously worked for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and is a renowned global speaker whose work has been featured in The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, The Guardian, and Huffington Post, and she is now writing a book about girls' empowerment globally. Dunning has lived in Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, India, Ghana, and South Africa and loves to hike and scuba dive.

Dominique Igo

Dominique is responsible for organizational risk management, which includes advising on financial and operational procedures for all EngenderHealth offices and supporting contracts, finance, and programs teams to improve systems and ensure compliance. He has more than 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, audit and risk management, and fraud investigation and internal controls. Dominque earned a master of business administration from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor of science in international business from Champlain College.

Donald J. Abrams

Donald J. Abrams is the former chief financial officer, treasurer, and secretary at the Population Council where he served for almost two decades. In his tenure there, Abrams revamped budgeting and reporting processes, directed the organization's transition to computers, and oversaw the investment management and policies for its endowment fund during a period of strong growth. Prior to joining the nonprofit sector he held financial positions at Bristol-Myers and Merck. He is an independent consultant and a director on several boards of directors in both New York and Florida. Abrams has an MBA in finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a BA in economics from Queens College. Dr. Linda Rosenstock - Chairman

Dr. Linda Rosenstock served from 2000 until 2012 as dean of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Fielding School of Public Health. She currently holds appointments at UCLA as a professor in the Departments of Medicine, Health Policy & Management, and Environmental Health Sciences. She is a recognized authority in occupational and environmental health as well as global public health and science policy. Prior to UCLA, Rosenstock served as the director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health where she was instrumental in creating the National Occupational Research Agenda, a framework for guiding occupational safety and health research. In recognition of her efforts, Rosenstock received the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, the highest executive service award in the government. Rosenstock received her MD and MPH from Johns Hopkins University. Internationally, Rosenstock has been active in teaching and research in many developing countries and has served as an advisor to the World Health Organization.

Elizabeth Maguire

Elizabeth (Liz) Maguire brings five decades of leadership in the international family planning and reproductive health and rights field and is the recipient of numerous awards. She had a distinguished career at USAID from 1977-99 where she served during the 1990s as the first woman director of the Office of Population and Reproductive Health, overseeing the largest bilateral donor program in this area for the developing world. From 1999-2015, she was president and CEO of Ipas, an international nonprofit dedicated to providing comprehensive abortion care and advancing women's sexual and reproductive rights. Maguire has experience in low- and middle-income countries in all regions, facilitated by strong foreign language capabilities and cross-cultural and diplomatic skills. She has excellent working relations with an extensive network of international NGOs, foundations, governments, and multilateral agencies as well as with leaders and organizations in every region. In her retirement, she continues to serve as a passionate advocate, guest lecturer, mentor, and writer. Maguire also authored an award-winning memoir, Advancing Reproductive Choice: Leading with Conviction and Compassion.

Francine Coeytaux

Francine Coeytaux is a public health specialist with more than 40 years of experience in the development of comprehensive reproductive health services and new reproductive technologies, including emergency contraception and medication abortion. She is a co-founder of Plan C, which is transforming access to abortion in the US by normalizing the self-directed option of abortion pills by mail. She was a founder of the Pacific Institute for Women's Health, the Reproductive Health Technologies Project, and the Pro-Choice Alliance for Responsible Research. Coeytaux has consulted for many organizations, including the World Health Organization, International Planned Parenthood Federation, the World Bank, and the MacArthur Foundation. She is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Center for Genetics and Society and has served on the boards of several public interest organizations. Coeytaux has a master of public health from the University of California-Los Angeles, a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, and is the recipient of the 2010 Felicia Stewart Award for Lifetime Achievement in Emergency Contraception, the 2011 Carl S. Shultz Award for Lifetime Achievement, and the 2013 Ruth Roemer Social Justice Leadership Award.

Prior to joining EngenderHealth, she served as development director at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Jennifer holds a bachelor of arts in history and American culture studies from Washington University in St. Louis and a master of business administration from the University of South Florida.

Juan Carlos Negrette

Juan Carlos Negrette is currently the director of global health at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He has nearly 30 years of international experience in health institutions management, strategic partnerships development, and programs design and implementation. In more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, Negrette has adapted and utilized modern managerial tools, techniques, and approaches in primary care programs and has designed and implemented strategic health interventions in challenging environments. Before his work at the University of Utah, Negrette was the managing director of Africa and multilateral organizations at John Hopkins Medicine International. Previously, he directed a health services social franchise in Bangladesh for Chemonics International, and worked at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communications as the senior programs officer and technical resident advisor. Negrette is particularly interested in studying organizational sustainability and the lasting impact of health programs in low resource settings, in helping identify innovative approaches that promote access to quality health services, and in global health equity issues. He holds a master of business administration in health services management from Johns Hopkins and a bachelor of arts in business administration from Javeriana University in Bogota. He is fluent in Spanish and English and lives in Salt Lake City.

Kabiru Atta

With 15 years of experience supporting health programs in Nigeria, including sexual and reproductive health and maternal health programs, he brings expertise in such areas as gender integration, health systems strengthening, community mobilization, and social and behavior change communications. Kabiru earned a medical degree from the University of Ibadan as well as a master of public health and a postgraduate diploma in public health from the University of Liverpool and a master's degree in development studies from Nigeria Defence Academy.

Karen Koh is a broadcast journalist with 25 years of experience with the world's top television networks. She has produced, reported, and anchored general news, business programs, and current affairs for BBC World, CNBC Asia, CNN International, and Thomson Reuters in London, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and was CNBC's Hong Kong bureau chief from 1997-1998. She has also reported for regional Asian networks like STAR News Asia, Channel News Asia, and CCTV. Koh also co-produced and hosted a weekly radio show focused on women's social and sexual issues for Radio Television Hong Kong. She is the founder of Intermedia, a consultancy that helps leading companies in financial services, hospitality, media, luxury goods, and other sectors communicate their stories and messages in an engaging and memorable way. Koh is based in Hong Kong and has a bachelor of economics from the University of Sydney.

Kate O'Connell

She oversees the organization's technical work priorities, identifies opportunities to disseminate learnings, and ensures high-quality program results and data. Kate brings more than 20 years of experience working in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and research in the international public health sector. Kate earned a doctorate of philosophy in psychology and a master of science in health psychology from the University of Bath and a master of arts in psychology from the University of St. Andrews.

Kimberly D. Gregory

Dr. Kimberly Gregory is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and maternal-fetal medicine and maintains an active clinical practice in high-risk obstetrics. She is vice-chair of Women's Healthcare Quality & Performance Improvement and the helping hand chair in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. In addition, she is an OB/GYN professor, with a joint appointment at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Gregory has served in various leadership positions, including the U.S. Public Health Services Prevention Task Force, the Institute of Medicine Committee on Preventive Services for Women, the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Board of Directors, various committees for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, California Maternal Mortality Review Committee, National Quality Forum, and numerous health and public policy committees at the state and national level. Gregory received her bachelor of science from UCLA, master of public health from Harvard University's School of Public Health, and completed medical training at the Charles Drew University of Medicine & Science/UCLA Medical Education Program.
