Aaron Chavis - COO

Aaron Chavis has over 20 years' experience in the nonprofit sector as an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer to some of the leading organizations in Central New Jersey. He currently serves as the Director of Operations for the Family Practice and Counseling Network (FPCN) located in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan University where he studied Law and Justice Studies, African American Studies, and Sociology. He earned his Masters of Public Administration degree from The Florida State University with expertise in Strategic Human Resource Development, Strategy and Leadership. He is a certified Executive and Health Leadership Coach with the Center for Executive Coaching, Certified Relationship Coach with the Relationship Coaching Institute and an Emotional Intelligence Certified Practitioner with Genos International. Aaron is also a trained Interim Executive Director with the Support Center of New York. ​​Aaron has taught Sociology and Leadership Development for the past 20 years at Mercer County Community College, Rowan College of Burlington County, Rowan University, Rider University, The College of New Jersey and Drexel University. He is a volunteer executive for EthicalCoach, an international nonprofit organization that delivers resources and tools to build capacity within NGOs, enabling them to increase their impact and serve more families and children in need all over the world. He is the father of two charming young men Gabriel and Israel. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also loves to travel and jet ski!

Althea is responsible for creating and sustaining a corporate culture of compliance with requirements of major regulatory and funding bodies, including HIPPA, HRSA, CBH CLIA, Access Matters, Dept. of Health, ACOA, and other major funding and/or regulatory agencies. She ensures that the corporation's internal controls are capable of preventing and detecting significant instances or patterns of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. She also directs the review of all incident reports, and recommends trainings and action plans when necessary. Prior to becoming the Compliance and Regulatory Manager, Althea worked in the Human Resources field and was responsible for employee recruitment and retention, staff development, mediation, conflict resolution, benefits and compensation, Human Resources records management, policies development and Human Resources and Regulatory Compliance. Ms. Torrisi received the Villanova University Leadership in Nursing award, the University of Pennsylvania Lillian Brunner Sholstis award for Excellence in Nursing Practice, the Pennsylvania Nurses Association Leadership award for Innovative Practice, and the National Alliance for Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing, Practitioner of the Year Award. Donna was a key leader in the state of Pennsylvania in an effort that culminated in legislative change redefining primary care provider to include nurse practitioners. She has published and lectured on the nurse- managed model and on integrating behavioral health into primary care. She is a founding member and the first chairperson of the National Nursing Centers Consortium. Mary Carol Campbell, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health, was drawn to FPCN because the mission and vision align with social work core values. She started her career as a mental health clinician in 2002, working at a federally qualified health center in Boston and a community mental health center in Philadelphia, before joining the FPCN Outpatient Behavioral Health team as a psychotherapist in 2008. In 2012, Mary Carol became the Associate Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health, and in July 2020 she assumed the Director role. She specializes in working with adults who've experienced complex trauma and losses; her approach centers on the healing power of relationships, is holistic, strengths-based, and practical. Mary Carol is dedicated to ensuring the quality, growth, and sustainability of behavioral health services at FPCN. She values working alongside the individuals and communities FPCN serves and colleagues at FPCN with diverse areas of expertise. Mary Carol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Simmons College School of Social Work, with a clinical concentration and a Certificate in Urban Leadership. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
