Dave Cohen was elected to the Green Board of Education in 2015. He is a professor of political science and fellow in the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at The University of Akron. He earned a B.A. in political science and international relations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in political science at the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in political science at the University of South Carolina. Mr. Cohen is a frequent media contributor on national and Ohio politics, and is Vice President of Programming for the Akron Press Club.
Mr. Cohen and his wife have lived in Green since 2000. Their two children attend Green Local Schools and are proud Bulldogs. He particularly enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children's extracurricular activities.

Mrs. Stoynoff is a 1994 graduate of Green High School and has lived in Green for over 40 years. She is a graduate of The University of Akron, holding a Bachelor of Science Industrial Management-Human Resources and a Master of Science Secondary Education. Katie began her career at The University of Akron in 1997 in the Office of the Registrar. After completing her bachelor's degree, she transitioned to the Office of Human Resources as a compensation analyst. When she left The University of Akron to become a stay-at-home mom, Katie was an employee trainer. In 2006, upon completion of her master's degree, Mrs. Stoynoff returned to The University of Akron as a lecturer in the Department of English. She currently directs the English Composition Program and holds the rank of Professor of Instruction. In addition to serving on GLS Board of Education, Katie is a trustee on the Summit County Children's Services Board. Mrs. Stoynoff has been married since 1997 and enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and son, Noah. In her free time, Mrs. Stoynoff enjoys reading, writing and being involved in the community.
Sally Fanelly retired from Green Local Schools on September 1, 2013 after working 18 years in the Central Office. She worked 15 years in the Treasurer's office as secretary to the Treasurer and 3 years for the Director of Operations. Previously, she worked as a Workers' Compensation Specialist for GenCorp. The North High graduate also attended the University of Akron. Sally and her husband have been married and have lived in the City of Green for 41 years. They have two children and four grandchildren all living in Green. Sally enjoys music and has performed in several musicals. She loves to read and spend time with her grandchildren. As a school board member she would like to be a voice that makes a difference for teachers and students and to help keep Green Schools moving forward on its path of excellence.
