Karen Tutty

We are delighted to again have horses in training with Karen. At the Tattersalls Yearling Sales of 2018 together with Karen we purchased a lovely Clanford Cliffs yearling filly, that will go into training as a 2yo next season with Karen at her Osmotherley yard based on the edge of the North York Moors. The filly was an early foal born on the 8th February 2107, so should be an early type & from a dam that has produced 2yo winners, she should be an exciting prospect! We have since acquired a really exciting prospect in the very well bred 2yo Chestnut Colt, by Helmet. He is out of the very well bred Shadwell mare Maimoona, who was herself an 89 rated winning filly trained by William Haggas. She has since produced 3 individual winners, with the top rated being the 96 rated Red Tea. Karen hasn't trained many 2yos, but has a very good record with the ones she has trained!

Ruth Carr

We are delighted to have horses in training with Ruth & 2017 saw her scaling new heights, with her fist ever Group race successes with Sovereign Debt. She took on this Lady O'Reilly owned 8yo gelding at the beginning of the season & showed just what she can do, when he won a Group 2 & 3, with him earining a career high mark & capping it all when voted the ROA 2017 Allweather horse of the year. She ended the yaer with a record total & her highest ever prize money total. Ruth is a trainer who runs her horses regularly and gets the very best out of them, particularly older geldings. Ruth has improved numerous horses to win big handicaps in recent seasons, including Imperial Deejay, Dubai Dynamo and Klynch. Ruth assisted her Grandfather for fifteen years before taking the license when he decided to retire. Those years were spent learning his unique training methods. The importance of treating every horse as an individual has been greatly impressed on her - how to make their time enjoyable, the importance of varying their routines, and how to keep them happy in their minds. David held a trainers license for over 40 years. He trained hundreds of winners - nobody seems to know the exact amount. He was the first trainer to turn horses out and lunge them as part of their day to day training routine - a method that is now used by many trainers. David trained horses that have been household names. These include Soba 13 wins, Glencroft 17, Chaplins Club 24, No Submission 23, Tempering 22, Takhlid 20, Soaked 19, Redoubtable 21, Sharp Hat 24, Paddywack 21, and Quito 20. These 11 horses have won more than 200 races between them!
