Dr. Brian Tietje

Brian Tietje is Dean of the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). Prior to joining TAMU-CC, he served a 22-year career at Cal Poly (San Luis Obispo) as Professor of Marketing and in various leadership roles, including Vice Provost of International, Graduate and Extended Education. His undergraduate business degree is from Bowling Green State University, his MBA is from the University of Hawaii, and his Ph.D. is from the University of Washington. He has served on the board of directors of several organizations in the past, including the Economic Vitality Corporation and Family Care Network, Inc.. Dr. Tietje came to TAMUCC to be part of the Texas success story and to make a difference in the lives of TAMUCC students and the Coastal Bend community.

Karen Miranda

Karen Miranda is the Vice President of Human Resources at CCHA&A where she is responsible for overseeing EEO Compliance, Recruiting, Staffing, Compensation, Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Labor and Legal Compliance, and Performance Management. Miranda studied at Liberty University and has over 15 years of leadership experience in Human Resource Management, Operations Management, and Process Improvement. Outside the office, Miranda has one daughter and serves as a community and church volunteer.

Lorenzo (Larry) Buitron

Lorenzo (Larry) Buitron is the Sr VP CFP Construction for the Corpus Christi Housing Authority, directing and supervising all modernization, capital improvements, special new construction projects, and contract work. This includes the administration and monitoring of all Capital Fund Grants.

Marisa Smithwick

Marisa Smithwick is the VP of Training and Technology with the Corpus Christi Housing Authority. She joined the CCHA in 2001 and has over 25 years of property management experience, 20 years of which have been strictly devoted to the Corpus Christi Housing Authority. Ms. Smithwick spent 17 of those years as a senior-level professional, leading and administering affordable and public housing programs, maintenance, resident services, admissions, and the PBV Rad conversion before transferring to the Housing Choice Voucher Program. She served as the VP of the Housing Choice Voucher Program since 2019, administering approx. 3300 vouchers, the intake dept. and implementing the transition to online workflows and paperless file management. Marisa is certified as a Tax Credit Manager, Public Housing Manager, Apartment Manager (CAM), Certified HQS Inspector, and Certified Occupancy Specialist. Recently, Marisa transitioned to the VP of Training and Technology providing technical expertise, support, training, and ensuring technological advancement/implementation throughout the agency.
