Brian A. Hellman

Mr. Hellman is a business and real estate attorney practicing in the fields of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development and leasing, telecommunications, zoning, and land use law. A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Hellman is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for South Carolina and all state courts. Mr. Hellman is a member of the American Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association. Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Hellman was associated with South Carolina's largest business law firm. Mr. Hellman earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif, served as managing editor of the South Carolina Law Review, and was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe. Mr. Hellman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of Charleston. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Hellman was Senior Vice President of a regional office products distribution company where he was primarily responsible for overseeing the company's sales, logistics, and technology. Jason S. Smith

Jason focuses his practice on intellectual property protection (patent, trademark, and copyright), entrepreneurial ventures, and a wide range of business litigation and corporate matters. Before joining Hellman Yates, he practiced with a law firm in New York City. He holds degrees from Duke University School of Law, LLM, Entrepreneurial Law; Albany Law School, JD; and Washington & Lee University, BS, Physics and Mathematics. Jason is a licensed member of the USPTO Patent Bar, as well as the state bars of South Carolina and New York, the Federal District Court of South Carolina, and the Federal Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Jason was named as a Rising Star on the South Carolina Super Lawyers list in 2016.

Jonathan L. Yates

Jonathan L. Yates focuses his practice on telecommunications, zoning, and land use issues. Mr. Yates' background in the telecommunications industry is broad-based and includes matters related to placing wireless networks in multiple states. In his land-use practice, he has assisted in the permitting of large multi-use commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments and has appeared before virtually every county planning commission and council in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Coastal Georgia. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Yates was a member with one of South Carolina's largest law firms. Mr. Yates earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of Charleston. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Yates was a commercial real estate broker representing developers, landlords, and tenants of commercial, industrial, and retail properties.

William Bobo

William Bobo, Jr. practices primarily in the area of commercial law, including banking, real estate, and business related transactions. He has handled a large number of such matters for institutions and individuals.
