Arthur J. MacDonald - Shareholder

Arthur MacDonald is a shareholder with the firm, and concentrates in the areas of Wills, Trusts, and Estate Administration. Before joining the firm, he served as a Captain in the ArmyJudge Advocate General's Corp and was the supervising attorney of the Legal Assistance office at Fort Dix, New Jersey. In addition to his work in the fields of Estate Planning and Administration, Mr. MacDonald has served as Solicitor for East Greenwich Township from 1988 to 1990, as Assistant Gloucester County Council from 1981 to 1983, and currently serves as Solicitor for the Pitman Planning Board, having served from 1984 to the present. Mr. MacDonald is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Gloucester County Bar Association. Mr. MacDonald is the recipient of the 2014 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award given by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law and the Gloucester County Bar Association.

John S. Holston

John S. Holston, Jr., a retired New Jersey Superior Court Trial and Appellate Division Judge, of counsel to the firm, concentrates his practice in providing independent and responsive alternate dispute resolution services to include mediation, serving as a neutral or party arbitrator, complex case management and State of New Jersey appellate practice consultation to the bar and public. Judge Holston served for over twenty-three years as a Judge of the Superior Court. Although he served in each of the trail divisions of the Superior Court, 12 years were in the Civil Division. He served three years in the Appellate Division, where he authored 320 written opinions in the areas of civil, general equity, family, tax, criminal, and administrative law. Twenty-four majority opinions and two dissenting opinions were published along with ten trial level opinions. Judge Holston served as a long-time member of the Supreme Court Civil Practice Committee. In his tenure in the Civil Division of the Superior Court Judge Holston was able to fashion remedies to provide substantial justice to litigants. His experience in civil litigation included bodily injury, property damage, product liability, professional malpractice, lemon law, Consumer Fraud Act, Law Against Discrimination, Conscientious Employee Protection Act, defamation, toxic torts, insurance coverage, contract, creditor-debtor, real estate and decedent estate litigation. Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court bench, Judge Holston was engaged in the general practice of law as a partner at Holston, Holston and MacDonald, P.A. His past public positions include municipal prosecutor, borough solicitor, planning and zoning board solicitor and Judge of three municipal courts. Judge Holston is a member of the NJ Bar Association, a former Trustee and member of the Gloucester Court Bar Association; past president of the Gloucester County Municipal Judges Association, a NJ Supreme Court approved mediator, a mediator and arbitrator for ADR Options, National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) and Resolute Systems LLC.

Ronald J. Uzdavinis - Shareholder

RONALD J. UZDAVINIS is a shareholder in the firm concentrating his practice in the areas of real estate and land use law including complex commercial, industrial, and residential site plan and subdivision applications; business organization formation including corporations, LLC's and partnerships; estate planning including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and representation of personal representatives in the administration of decedent's estates, as well as litigation in these areas. Mr. Uzdavinis graduated from St. Joseph's College, Philadelphia, PA in 1970 and obtained his Juris Doctor from Villanova University Law School in 1973. He was admitted to the New Jersey-Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1974. He was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1998, and to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1990. He served as Solicitor for various public bodies, including the Franklin Township Board of Education, the Woodbury Planning Board, and the West Deptford Township Planning Board and has served as Assistant Counsel for the County of Gloucester. He has been the Solicitor for the Burlington Board of Island Managers, the oldest continuously operating educational trust in the United States, from 1995 to 2015. Mr. Uzdavinis has conducted seminars on Land Use Planning for the National Business Institute and for the Gloucester County Legal Education Association. He has also made estate planning and litigation related presentations for various private sector institutions. He was named to the Board of Directors of the United Way of Gloucester County in 1990, became President in 2003, and has served as Chairman of the Board since 2009. He also sits on the Board of Main Street Woodbury, Inc., and other private sector organizations. Mr. Uzdavinis has served on the Gloucester County Ethics Committee and the District IV Fee Arbitration Committee as a Member and Chair. In 1985, he was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to that Court's Committee on Character which screens all incoming candidates for admission to the bar, and chaired a Panel until 1999 when he was appointed Statewide Chair of the Character Committee where he served until 2003. The Supreme Court then appointed him to its Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics where he served from 2004 to 2016. He was named by the Supreme Court to the Disciplinary Oversight Committee in 2019 to the present. He was appointed to the Supreme Court Skills and Methods Committee, and has served on several Litigation related Committees and Task Forces at the request of the New Jersey Supreme Court, including those involving Civil Practice and the Use of Technology in the Courtroom.

Samuel Myles is a shareholder with the firm who concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury litigation, complex commercial litigation, alternate dispute resolution, estate planning and administration, real estate, and surety law. Mr. Myles is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law (with honors) and The College of New Jersey (magna cum laude). Prior to joining the firm, he completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Anne McDonnell in the New Jersey Superior Court. Mr. Myles handles a variety of catastrophic personal injury matters in addition to complex litigation including construction and land use litigation, employment matters, commercial litigation, surety law and insurance coverage matters. He also handles estate planning and administration and is frequently appointed by the court in estate administration roles as a fiduciary. Mr. Myles also handles residential and commercial real estate transactions and any litigated matters which flow from same. He regularly practices in New Jersey State and Federal Courts and is a New Jersey Superior Court Approved Arbitrator and Mediator. Mr. Myles is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Gloucester County Bar Association, where he served as a trustee from 2005 - 2008.
