DANE COURVILLE

DANE COURVILLE, PLS began land surveying in 2005 and on day one he knew he was a surveyor at heart. He loved the ability to be outside, perform historical research, perform mathematical computations, meet land owners, cut line, investigate and assist with legal maters, and learn new equipment and technology. Dane received his Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification in 2007 and subsequently became a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Maine in 2009. Dane is currently licensed in not only the State of Maine, but also Vermont, Texas, Colorado, and Oregon. In all, he has gained over 15 years of experience working in not only many different states, but also many different survey disciplines including residential, commercial, ALTA, the energy sector, transportation, and construction. Dane is the author of: Fundamentals of Surveying: Exam Study Manual currently works as a Professional Land Surveyor for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).

DARREL THORIN

DARREL THORIN owned and operated a custom farming business and started working with heavy equipment in 1982, Dozers, Scrapers, Payloaders, Excavators and Motor graders. When he sold the business in 2003, he obtained his County Highway Superintendents License and worked as a County Highway Superintendent until he retired in January of 2017. He immediately started working with Nebraska LTAP as an On-Call instructor and has presented classes in County and Nebraska Department of Transportation facilities throughout the State. Darrel holds a current Nebraska Class A Highway Superintendents License.

DOUG STERN

DOUG STERN is currently the Infrastructure Manager for Arapahoe County Colorado. Doug is Colorado native, born and raised in Colorado Springs Colorado and the third-generation local government worker with 29 years of roadway maintenance experience.

JEAN MACHELEDT

JEAN MACHELEDT has worked as in-house corporate counsel for a couple of Colorado-based entities with international operations. Her law firm helps clients build intellectual property portfolios (she is a U.S. Reg. Patent Attorney), along with navigating solutions to general commercial issues and resolving disputes. Jean moved to Colorado a few decades ago after engineering school, to work for Hewlett-Packard Company in their process engineering group. These past several years, she has also been active in teaching science, math, social studies/civics, and music in Northern Colorado schools. As an instructor in FRCC's Business Dept, Jean enjoys bringing the many facets of "business law" to life for college students!

JOE CUSANO

JOE CUSANO is a current high school business and computer science teacher at Prairie View High School. He is also an adjunct business professor with FRCC. Joe's educational background includes an Associate in human services, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Mr. Cusano also holds certs and endorsements in Coding, IT, Marketing and Business Technology. His favorite course work to teach is leadership and communication. Those two elements, when executed successfully, snowball into success on any level of business. Joe moved out of corporate about seven years into education after spending most of his career in leadership and consulting arenas of business. He has always had a passion for training and teaching. Mr. Cusano grew up on the east coast in upstate NY and moved to CO about 18 years ago. He raised his two beautiful daughters here. Joe moved back east for a short stint about eight years ago and am now back home in CO. His fiancé and he enjoy mountain drives and hiking. The more time he spends in the Rockies, the better he feels :) Joe is looking very much forward to serving his future students with LTAP. Let's have some fun!!

JOSH KRUEGER - VP

JOSH KRUEGER is the Vice President of A-1 Chipseal/Rocky Mountain Pavement of Denver, Co. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry specializing in asphalt maintenance. He graduated from the University of Mary in 2009 with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. In his free time, he enjoys traveling the world and is a die-hard Minnesota Vikings and Twins Fan.

KEVIN REGAN

KEVIN REGAN has devoted a career to integrate sound safety principles and programs into city, county and special district government organizations. His expertise is in municipal, county, DOT and water utility agency work crew and facility safety. He currently serves as contract safety officer for 25 cities and six counties on a permanent contract basis. Kevin began his career at the University of Florida where he studied Risk Management and Insurance. After leaving college, he was employed by a major commercial and industrial insurance provider working with contractors, manufacturers and public agency clients. Here he further developed his knowledge of general industry and construction safety. In 1991, Kevin became the Risk Manager of the City of Venice, Florida which turned his emphasis solely toward public agency safety. He was responsible for overseeing safety for all operations of the city including public works and utilities. In 2001, Kevin started his own consulting firm in order to serve many county and city government agencies rather than one. He now trains over 1400 municipal employees each month. He also inspects a municipal facility or observes a work crew while trenching, conducting permit required confine space entry, road work, etc. on average 3 times per month. Since 2005, the T2 Centers across the nation have utilized Kevin's training expertise as a lead mobile equipment, tree work and OSHA topic program designer and instructor. Kevin is also an active safety instructor and safety program developer for the GaDOT (LTAP) Center. In 2010 Kevin celebrated the approval of the Florida Section - American Water Works Association (FS-AWWA) for continuing education units (CEU's) for water utility safety certification programs. Pinellas Technical College (PTC) is another organization to recognize Kevin as an approved instructor for special independent workshops held at PTC and/ surrounding PTC approved locations. Over the years Kevin has been a guest conference speaker for APWA, FWPCOA, AWWA and other public agency associations, many of whom he again serves as an active safety instructor and safety program developer.

Melinda Urban

Melinda Urban, PE, PMP As a Senior Area Engineer in the FHWA Colorado Division Office, Melinda has over 17 years of experience providing stewardship and oversight of federal-aid transportation projects through design, environmental, procurement, and construction. She is the FHWA liaison for projects located in CDOT's Region 1 West and South programs. Melinda also serves as the Local Agency Public Manager and LTAP program Manager. In this capacity, she coordinates the development and implementation of the LPA Program within Colorado, as well as serves as co-chair for the Agency's national Local Agency Steering Committee. Melinda completed her education at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BS in Civil Engineering. SANDRA MCDONALD is the founder of Mountain West Pesticide Education & Safety Training (MWPEST, 2009). Prior to establishing MWPEST, Sandra was the Environmental and Pesticide Education Specialist at Colorado State University. MWPEST offers in-depth, unbiased education for private and commercial pesticide applicators, and agricultural employers, technicians, handlers and workers.

Susan Baillargeon

SUSAN BAILLARGEON Program Director, Highway Maintenance Management Program at FRCC Susan retired from the Connecticut Department of Transportation after 32 years where she was a highway maintainer for 19 years and Curriculum Manager for 13. She was a program chair for the Connecticut Training and Development Network Professional Instructors Training Program and on the instructor team for Aspiring Leaders, the State of Connecticut's Executive Management Program. She has a master's degree in Adult Learning from the University of Connecticut. Susan is a member of Women's Transportation Seminars (WTS-CT) and currently serves on the WTS International Committee on Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity. Previously, she developed and chaired the chapter's Leadership Program. Susan has been a volunteer with American Red Cross Disaster Services for over 20 years and supports the local chapter as an instructor for Defensive Driving, Mass Care and Shelter Management.

TATIANA "Tanya" CHAPMAN

TATIANA "Tanya" CHAPMAN has 13 years' experience as both a safety and health field coordinator and training instructor for safety and health topics. She has served as a contractor liaison, contractor auditing program manager and risk ranking program specialist for oil and gas producers. Tanya has been a Training and Safety Consultant for Colorado Safety Association (CSA) since 2019. She is a Colorado Pilot Car Operator and Trainer and a Master Trainer for the Wind Industry Transportation Professional Advanced Certification (WITPAC) course.

TODD MORRISON

TODD MORRISON, P.E.is a road safety advocate as a speaker, workshop instructor, and online trainer. For the past twelve years he has worked for various Contractors, Associations, Local Technical Assistance Programs, and DOT's. He has taught over 500 workshops and trained over 15000 individuals. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet after serving in the Divisions of Construction, Maintenance and Traffic. At the Cabinet, he worked with environmental, work zone, construction and maintenance concerns as an Environmental Coordinator, Maintenance/Traffic Engineer, and as a Branch Manager for Operations. Recently, Todd served for two years as Kentucky's Safety Circuit Rider helping local agencies identify low-cost improvements to reduce crashes. Todd is an ATSSA certified Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagging Instructor, and Traffic Control Design Specialist.
