PACIFIC MARINE CONSERVATION CAUCUS

In response to these developments, the Pacific Marine Conservation Caucus-or MCC-was established in December 2003. The Caucus was formed independently of DFO and acts as the participating environmental organizations' main method of representing conservation interests in formal DFO advisory body consultative processes, particularly but not limited to those related to fisheries management... This website provides an overview of the MCC's background, mandate, structure and activities. We are always looking for ways to increase communication and effectiveness with the broader conservation community and appreciate feedback on how to maximize this role of the MCC, and ensure that marine species and ecosystems are being protected... We're an officially recognized body which provides the conservation community with a means to participate as a full status "stakeholder" in formal consultations with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
