As with most local business, McKinleyville Ace Home & Garden Center started small - as McKinleyville Ace Hardware, a basic neighborhood hardware store. We opened our doors in 1996, next to what was then Safeway at the corner of Pickett and Central Avenue in McKinleyville... We quickly saw that our new community was growing and needed more than just your basic hardware store. When Safeway announced their move to a new location, we seized the opportunity to expand. After renovating the old Safeway building and adding a green house, we re-opened our doors in 2003 as McKinleyville Home & Garden Center...
