Lynne Henderson joined the staff of Miles in March 2003 as Minister of Music. Born in Mebane, NC to a family of faith and church musicians, she continues to pursue Psalms 100:2-3: Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.
Pastor David has served several Virginia United Methodist churches throughout his ministry and was appointed to Miles Memorial UMC in 2016. He is a graduate of The University of Virginia and holds masters and doctoral degrees from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. His wife, Jannette Clavez, is the Minister of Congregational Care at Community UMC in Virginia Beach. Their daughters are Grace, an Occupational Therapist in Raleigh, NC and Louise, a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Kentucky. Pastor David enjoys the outdoors, travel, reading, biblical studies, and their kitty cat, Stella.
Hello! My name is Shannon Zarp, and I am your new administrative assistant here at Miles Memorial UMC. I am originally from Lancaster Pennsylvania, although my husband Robert grew up here during his high school years. We joined Miles Memorial UMC back in July of 2021 along with my in-laws. I have a border collie mix named Siri and a corgi named Moxie. I also have 2 cats Alistair and Zena. I enjoy crafting, reading, and going for hikes with my 2 dogs. I look forward to serving this church community and am very grateful for the opportunity.
