Dr. Thomas C. Stokes

Dr. Thomas C Stokes, II also graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry and served Michigan City for over 35 years promoting leading-edge cosmetic and restorative dentistry. In addition, he served as an on-site instructor for Indiana University Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Programs, before retiring from formal practice. Dr. Stokes completed programs at Columbia University and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York, earning him certificates in Health Counseling. While no longer actively treating patients, Dr. Thomas C. Stokes, II is still an important part of our team, acting as a consultant and coordinating treatment.He also spends time with Michigan City Rotary, he serves on the board of directors of Northwest Indiana Dental Association, and he is a competitive windsurfer, windsurfing on Lake Michigan and elsewhere in the United States. Michigan City Dental began as a small dental practice started by Dr. Wayne Dunlop in 1952. He rented out a suite in a building on 10th street until he was joined by Dr. John Daher in 1958. The photo shows Dr. Wayne and Jeri Dunlop (L) and Dr. John and Maureen Daher (R) enjoying time together that year. Both doctors have since passed on, but we continue to hear wonderful stories about them from our longtime patients.

Faye C. Stokes

Dr. Faye Stokes was born and raised in Michigan City. She joined the staff at Michigan City Dental, P.C. in 2002 as an assistant to her father, now retired Dr. Thomas Stokes II. Under his supervision, she learned from his over 35 years of experience and advanced education. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science as a prestigious Indiana University Cox Scholar and Honors Scholar in 2010, and then to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014, also at Indiana University. Dr. Stokes is committed to a holistic, patient-centered approach to dentistry. With her degree in nutrition, additional minors in psychology, biology, and chemistry, and her training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics she uses her advanced understanding of a patient's dental and medical needs to meet their desires for achieving a healthy and beautiful smile. Dr. Stokes is skilled in computerized 3-D scanning and design, combining artistry with science so that her patients can have a comfortable experience while being an active part in the planning and design of their smiles. As an Associate Fellow of the Academy of GP Orthodontics, she has trained over the course of several years to utilize braces and clear aligners to help young smiles that are still growing as well as well-loved smiles that need restored. As a mother of two, Dr. Stokes includes children's dentistry as a wonderful part of her practice. Children's dentistry involves an understanding of teeth as well as growth and emotional development. It's always fun to empower our youngest patients in the care of their healthy bodies. Dr. Stokes feels that community involvement is an important part of her practice. She has been a mentor for the Non-Traditional Employment for Women Workshops provided by the A.K. Smith Center for young girls in our community. She has been on the Board of Directors.of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, of which Michigan City Dental P.C. has been a member for over 70 years. Dr. Stokes has also served as the President of the LaPorte County Dental Society and is a current member of the Northwest Indiana Dental Society, the Indiana Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.

Patrick Lahiff D.

Dr. Lahiff was born and raised in Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with distinction and went on to attend Creighton School of Dentistry, serving as his class's president for 4 years. He practiced in rural Montana before joining Michigan City Dental to be closer to his family. Dr. Lahiff loves continuing education! Last year he completed over 150 hours of CE alone and he is working on a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. He is trained in dental implants, same-day crowns, and 3-D printing. He offers sedation for patients who wish to be asleep for their dental care. He also has many hobbies; He is a licensed pilot who currently holds an instrument rating. He also enjoys woodworking, playing musical instruments, and going hiking.
