Midrand High school was started in 1993 through the efforts of a few energetic, effective people: Brian Algie and Speedo Horn being the two who spearheaded the school. It started off as a parallel medium high school on the premises of Halfway House Primary School, that was located behind the taxi rank in Halfway House. The late Mr Cas Wessels allowed the school to use the office where the toilet paper was stored!... As this vision is anticipated in all we do, we have afforded our learners many opportunities: such as the Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington and New York; bi-annual tours are arranged overseas, we have been in the top four of the SA Reserve Bank Monetary Policy Committee Competition since 2012, we take part in the UN debating competition were we have been awarded gold; we also have a formidable chess team. Through the years, parents viewed this as the school of choice where education was at the centre of all activities.
