In June 2002, Dr. Amarnath along with his friend and classmate Dr. Peacock, set out to create their dream practice. They sought to create a patient- centered practice that provided high quality eye exams and high quality eyewear, all while using cutting edge technology and the latest treatment options. They wanted a practice that is part of the community and a great place to work. Dr. Amarnath is proud that their vision has become a reality in NTOC.
He loves all aspects of private practice and has a special interest in glaucoma, dry eye disease, pediatrics and contact lens fittings. Dr. Amarnath has enjoyed growing with the Alliston community, beyond his work, by being part of various community organizations and endeavors.
When he isn't working in the clinic, Dr. Amarnath loves spending time with his beautiful wife, 2 kids and dog. He dedicates a lot of time towards fitness and hopes one day he can retire into joining the pro tennis tour as a player. His family keeps him in check and makes sure he still pursues his other interests in travelling, playing games and laughing with close friends and family.
Following an undergraduate Degree from Western University, and the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Peacock is experienced academically and practically. After graduation, he enjoyed his first years of practice at the highly regarded Pacific Eye Doctors in Vancouver. After 3 years as a successful Associate, the time came to embark as a clinic owner with his friend, Dr Hari Amarnath. It was also time to leave the city and start a new chapter with wife, Rocio. At that moment, an opportunity presented itself in the town of Alliston, the perfect community to raise a family and develop the eye clinic of his dreams.
Dr. Peacock is passionate about providing the highest level of eye care by incorporating the latest in technology into his practice. He is proud of the investments made which offer excellent primary care eye exams as well as care for those with glaucoma and dry eye.
An avid traveler, Dr. Peacock combines his love of eye care with his desire to experience other cultures and languages. He spent summers studying Spanish and volunteering in central Mexico with I-Care International. This unique experience was enhanced when the University of Waterloo sent Dr. Peacock to Santiago, Chile, to help create Spanish optometry courses. In 2009, he participated in Providing Legendary Patient Care, and in 2018 became so proud of his work family as they received the award for Best Customer Service in South Simcoe. Aside from the COVID hardships, 2020 began the newest chapter with completion of the new NTOC clinic, a state of the art facility in downtown Alliston.
Dr. John Raji (pronounced Reggie) is a McMaster University Honours Bachelor of Science Alumni. There, he found a passion for optometry and fled Canada's harsh winters to warmer weather in Houston, Texas. Dr. Raji earned his Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating again with honours (magna cum laude) and was a Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society member.
Dr. Raji has been awarded for excellence in Neuro-optometric care and cornea-contact lens care, and also served as the National Liaison for the Sports Vision Section in the American Optometric Association. While in Texas, he treated underserved populations in conditions such as vascular occlusions, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, and glaucoma.
He has published numerous articles for the website OptometryStudents.com and served as an Executive Journalist, and continues to be a leader in the optometry space. Today, he is involved in the Ontario Association of Optometrists as an ambassador and committee member.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Raji enjoys time with family and friends, volunteers at his local church, and enjoys staying active!
Dr. Letty Lau graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Queen's University. She completed her training at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She continues to supplement her education with online case-based learning and courses which enables her to hone her skills in helping to provide the best eye care to patients.
Dr. Lau strives to provide excellent care through comprehensive vision and eye health exams. She takes particular satisfaction in counselling patients so that they may better understand their ocular condition. She enjoys her daily interactions with pediatric and geriatric populations. Dr. Lau is experienced in contact lens fittings, assessment of binocular vision, and management of both acute and chronic eye disease.
In her spare time, Dr. Lau has taken to exploring nature. Amidst the COVID pandemic, with her 2 energetic children, she has biked through several of our beautiful provincial parks which has left an indelible impression on her. As her children have developed a similar affinity for nature, outdoor camping has become a summer staple - she has even considered trying it in colder climates!
Her mission is to become a better version of herself. Dr. Lau enjoys reading a variety of books; her pile of cookbooks inspire experimentation in the kitchen. She continues her love for DIY projects, most recently installing a self-drip irrigation system for her growing garden.
