ODYSSEY THEATRE - Key Persons
Alejandro is a first generation Mexican-American from Los Angeles, California. He was first introduced to dance at the age of 12. He joined a street dance crew in which he choreographed works to compete and showcase internationally. Alejandro's passion continued to unfold as he enrolled at Hamilton Performing Arts High School to begin refining his techniques. He is a recipient of scholarships at UCLA, Jacob's Pillow Ballet Summer Programs 85th Anniversary GALA, & Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program. He has performed with VERSASTYLE, ISHIDA, Mike Tyus, dawsondancesf, ZiRu Dance, and several other companies in through the United States. Alejandro is now projecting his voice as a choreographer throughout California and has recently set a work on the LINES Ballet Training Program, Summer Program, and for the California summer school for the arts.
Starting out as assistant director and dramaturg in Munich's fringe scene, at the Opera North Leeds and Kampnagel Hamburg, Barbara later worked as production manager and producer for various theater festivals, the Citytheater Freiburg (Germany), the Living Theatre, New York and the Left Bank Theatre Group, Tel Aviv. Before moving to Los Angeles she was managing director of the Citytheater Aalen. Now she is producer and dramaturg at the Odyssey Theater Ensemble Los Angeles and curating an annual Contemporary Dance Festival at the Odyssey. As board member of "ARENA of the Young Arts" she got awarded by the city of Erlangen (Germany) for her merits in theatre, cultural exchange and international understanding.

Song Yi has experience in theatrical scenic and production design in theatre and film. Her scenic designs include Hooded, Or Being Black for Dummies (2022) by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm and directed by Ahmed Best at Echo Theater, and a virtual production The Latrell Show (2021) by Brandon Kyle Goodman and co-directed by Stefanie Black and Devere Rogers at the IAMA Theatre Company, The Unseen Hand / Killer's Head (2020, nominated for the 31st Ovation Awards) by Sam Shepard and directed by Darrell Larson at Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, and Driving Wilde (2019) by Jacqueline Wright and directed by Bart DeLorenzo at Theatre of Note.
