Over 35 years of experience as an academician of high repute and a costing professional highly accomplished, he has in addition to being a senior faculty in numerous business schools, also conducted various professional MDP's and provided customized solutions to industries on various costing issues. His Role in Ramanath Iyer & Co is as advisory in management accounting related assignments. He is also well verse with application of data analytics tools. He has also conducted cost audits.
Shri A.R. Ramanathan worked as a lecturer in the Shriram College of Commerce (1967-77) and started practice as a Cost Accountant in 1971. He was subsequently selected as a Member of Company Law Board. After holding this position for over 7 years, he joined the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission as a Member. On retirement he actively involved himself in the various activities of the firm as a Partner. In the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, the orders authored by him pertaining to "Availability Based Tariff& Grid Code" are an excellent piece of legislation with a reflection of professional mastery.
He has jointly written a book on "Management Accounting" and has published extensively. He has also authored a book on "Cost & Management Audit" published by M/s. Tata McGraw Hill.
Shri A.R. Ramanathan was subsequently selected as a Member of Company Law Board. After holding this post for over 7 years, he was selected as one of the first Member of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. On retirement, Shri A.R. Ramanathan was actively involved in the various activities of the firm as Partner.
He was the former Director Continuous Education Program with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for more than 23 years. He has a rich experience of over 38 years in Designing and Organising various Manage Development Programmes (MDPs approximately 1500) for executives and officers in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Private sector, Government Departments like Indian Navy, Indian AirForce, Indian Railways etc., Banks, Insurance companies & Multinational Companies (both in India as we as abroad). The topics for these MDPs include Cost Management, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, IFRS, Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Project management, Contract management, Behavioural Science, Finance for non-Finance Executives etc.
A practitioner having an experience of more than 32 years in field of cost management & Cost Audit across various Industries in SAP environment. He has vast experience in the field of costing & tariff in the Power sector.
