Abbie Blake is a Crown Court Associate Caseworker based at our office in Bristol. She joined Reeds having amassed over 7 years' experience in multi-agency liaison, managing high volumes of cases and efficiently overseeing diaries; all with a meticulous eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Abbie has always had an ability to forge and maintain excellent relationships with clients. With a cheerful disposition, approachable nature and with excellent communication skills, Abbie consistently strives to provide the clients in Chambers with a high quality and responsive service.
I am writing this review upon the service that I have received so far from Abbie Blake and Stephen from the bristol office they are both out standing at there jobs I am very happy with what they have done so far in my case I can not fault either of them they have both gone above and beyond to date
Abi Hogsden is part of our Private Crime Team as a Senior Caseworker where she assists with the preparation of cases at all stages, working closely with a number of our other Caseworkers, Litigators and Barristers. Abi joined Reeds as we emerged from ‘Lock-down', initially working in our Complex Crime Team, and quickly progressed within the firm such that she is now in the role ‘of her legal dreams' as a valued Caseworker. Abi is involved with a full range of case-working tasks, including instructing and liaising with medical and forensic experts, liaising with clients, taking statements and collating evidence and undertaking outdoor clerking such as CCTV reconnaissance and collection. Abi has worked on developing the process of appeal cases within the firm, where she has deployed her excellent organisational skills.
Abi frequently works on cases at the pre-charge investigation stage. This is when the client has had their initial interview and have been released under investigation. Abi feels passionately about working at this early stage of proceedings as it frequently means avoiding criminal charges for the client when successful.
Prior to joining Reeds, Abi, had a job history rich in customer service. Solving problems and finding the best resolution for her customers has helped prepare her for aiding our clients when they are facing a difficult (if not the worst) time in their lives. Abi consistently seeks to provide a high quality of work, meeting and exceeding the expectations of not only the clients but also her team.

Adam Orchard is a Senior Associate Solicitor Team Manager in our Crown Court Litigation Team based within the Leighton Buzzard branch. Adam joined Reeds over 5 years ago having spent most of his career within the criminal justice system, working within the Crown Court. He undertook numerous roles there, including as a List Officer, and a Case Progression officer. Adam was able to bring his valuable experience, and his comprehensive understanding into the workings of the Crown Court, to his role at Reeds. He has spent nearly 20 years operating in the Crown Court environment and is a seasoned practitioner with a deep knowledge of the field.
Now, Adam is responsible for managing our team of in-house Crown Court Caseworkers in the South East group and liaises with Advocates and counsel's chambers in the preparation of cases involving serious crime in and around Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and beyond. As Team Manager he has oversight for several hundred ongoing Crown Court matters, runs a caseload of his own and supports his team to achieve the best level of service to all our clients and reaching a positive outcome with their cases.
As a highly effective communicator, Adam is a key point of contact between our clients, their barristers and the Courts; and assists in carefully overseeing the efficient management of cases as they progress through the Court system. As someone who is able to keep a cool head under pressure, Adam's ability to employ his organisational skills in the fast-moving environment of criminal defence work, ensures that his cases are meticulously prepared, and ready for anything.
Adele Duffy works exclusively in our Complex Crime Department. She is known for her hard work and has built a strong reputation for her flawless, innovative, professional and robust approach to the criminal defence work. With over 20 years in the field, she pro-actively represent the interests of her clients.
She has extensive knowledge and experience representing clients who face the most serious allegations. This includes murder, serious violence, drugs conspiracies including EncroChat cases, terrorism cases and POCA proceedings. She also handles all matters before the Crown Court.
Clients are able to feel at ease with Adele due to her considerable experience. They feel safe in the knowledge that their case is being dealt with by someone who is experienced in dealing with crown court cases. Adele works hard with all her clients to build trust and always has the client's best interest at heart.
Adele has built up strong relationships with leading barristers and experts such as Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Forensic Experts. Her work is recognised in the Crown Court judiciary, and she is often commended for her dedication and work ethic in her cases.

Alexa Clement is a Senior Associate Solicitor and the head of the Magistrates Court team in Luton, working between our offices in Luton and Leighton Buzzard. As a qualified Duty Solicitor, Alexa provides expert legal representation at Luton Magistrates' Court and offers dedicated advice and support to clients detained at Luton and Kempston Police Stations.
With extensive experience handling a wide range of criminal cases, Alexa represents clients at every stage of the legal process, from initial arrest through to trial. Her advocacy skills have led to numerous successful outcomes, with her managing trials involving the full spectrum of criminal offences and frequently representing clients in custody hearings.
She has a particular specialism in defending juveniles, often in serious cases heard before the Youth Court. Alexa also regularly represents clients which Police allege are ‘gang nominals', as well as cases of serious violence, firearms and weapons offences. Alexa's expertise as an advocate enables her to craft and present complex legal arguments effectively, responding decisively to unexpected developments in a case. Alexandra Matthews is a Caseworker in our Cardiff Criminal Defence department. She primarily attends the police station where she advises clients and works on court cases. Whilst Alexandra mostly works on Crown Court cases, she hopes to gain experience in the Magistrates Court also.
Alexandra has a BSc and MSc in Analytical and Forensic Science from the University of South Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Law from Cardiff University. Prior to joining Reeds, Alexandra worked for three years as a clinical negligence paralegal and one year as a criminal defence paralegal where she undertook the police station accreditation.
In September 2025, Alexandra will be undertaking the SQE and hopes to become a qualified solicitor by the end of 2026.

Alison Page is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and Senior Associate within the private family law team. She is based at our office in Oxford having joined Reeds in 2013, after moving from another firm within Oxford.
With over 20 years in practice, Alison has amassed a high level of knowledge, skill and experience. She is sought out by clients for her advice and assistance in a range of issues relating to family law.
Alison is also a Resolution Accredited Specialist. She specialises in the representation of clients seeking advice on separation and divorce, financial settlements, and private law children applications in respect of Child Arrangements Orders where she determines who the child should live with and how much time they should spend with the other parent. She also specialises in Prohibited Steps and Specific Issue Orders.
As an accredited member of Resolution, Alison is committed to adopting a non- confrontational yet proactive approach to all her cases, with her clients' individual interests always placed firmly at the focus of her advice. As such, she is ideally placed to assist particularly vulnerable clients, and those requiring urgent assistance as a result of domestic violence.

Amy Marshall is a Caseworker, in our Crown Court department, based in our Bristol office. Amy is working on obtaining Legal Aid for clients and preparing cases for trial. Her tasks include reviewing evidence, drafting statements, attending court, taking instructions from clients and liaising with the court service.
Prior to joining Reeds, Amy Marshall worked as a Patient Administrator at University of Bristol Dental School where she managed clinic scheduling, patient care, and the progress of trainee dental students, as well as assisting with general administrative tasks. Here, she was the champion of implementing a new digital database and leading the database training of all staff and students. Amy has also worked as a Visitor Experience Host at the Roman Baths Museum, where she was praised for her excellent inclusive care and knowledgeable historical tours. Amy studied History at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she obtained a Bachelors Degree and Masters.
With Amy's approachable and empathetic nature, coupled with excellent communication skills, she aims to provide high quality levels of client care. She is very organised and proactive in her cases and values a supportive environment. Amy takes pride in her work and ensures her cases are handled diligently.

Andrei Kerkache is a Police Station Representative and Paralegal, based in the Magistrates Courts Team at our office in Oxford. He joined Reeds having gained years of experience within London firms including TV Edwards and Stuart Miller, where he gained valuable experience in the conduct of cases from the Police Station right through to the Crown Court.
Here at Reeds, Andrei is primarily responsible for supporting the activities of the solicitors in the Magistrates' Court team in the preparation of cases for trial. This can involve assisting client's with applications for funding, requesting disclosure of evidence, seeking out witnesses, undertaking site visits, transcribing audio evidence, considering CCTV, meeting clients and taking instructions, instructing expert witnesses, and liaising with the CPS, Court, Counsel and other relevant parties; all to ensure the smooth and thorough progression of the case load. In addition to his work for the Courts team, Andrei is frequently called upon to assist and defend our clients detained at Police Stations across Oxfordshire, providing them with careful, confident and tactical advice at all hours of the day or night.
Andrei has a reputation for being both thorough and dependable, with a drive for excellence. He knows how to work efficiently and effectively in a team to maximise the prospects of attaining a common goal; namely achieving the best possible outcome for our clients. He provides clear and assured advice to clients at the Police Station, who also benefit from his natural ability to build a rapport with them, helping them feel immediately at ease. Andy Lee has an excellent client base and always shows grand judgement.
Andy Lee is a Partner and Solicitor Advocate of the firm, based at our Bristol office, and forms part of the firm's Complex Crime Team.
Andy is a fluent Cantonese speaker and has a significant national and international client base, with particular emphasis on Southeast Asia.
He has a wealth of experience in representing clients accused of money laundering cases offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act, large scale complex frauds and high-level drugs conspiracies.
Andy's extensive international network means that he is often instructed in investigations being conducted by HMRC relating to VAT fraud and the evasion of duty, including in cases which involve the large-scale importation and distribution of drugs, tobacco and counterfeit goods (alleged to have breached Trade Mark legislation).
He is also regularly instructed in cases throughout the country which relate to the running and management of brothels, the control and management of premises for the purpose of prostitution, and human trafficking for exploitation.
Many of these cases involve what is frequently referred to as the "Chinese Underground Banking System" and "Daigou", of which he has bespoke knowledge. As such, he is the solicitor of choice for those who have encountered issues with the UK authorities arising from their use of these systems. He is regularly instructed to deal with Unexplained Wealth Orders, Restraint Orders and Account Freezing Orders, as well as the criminal investigations which often run parallel to the making of such Orders.
His practice often involves cases with a multi-jurisdictional element and are the culmination of joint investigations conducted by international law enforcement agencies, including Interpol, the National Crime Agency and the FBI.

Angela Murray is a senior caseworker, in our Crown Court department, based in our Oxford office. Angie assists with preparation and management of cases transferred to the Crown Court from Magistrates courts. Angie's daily tasks is primarily case preparation, taking instruction from clients managing day to day enquiries and responding to urgent requests from solicitors, barristers or the courts.
Prior to joining Reeds, Angie worked for Thames Valley Police. She started her career at Oxford as a constable, she spent 12 ½ years patrolling Oxford before moving to Bicester as a Roads Policing Officer. Angie was promoted to Sergeant and was posted to South Oxfordshire. Angie spent 5 years working on the Child Abuse Investigation Unit where she qualified as a Detective. She has worked within the custody suite firstly as a Sergeant and later as a PACE Inspector. She attained the rank of Inspector and was posted to Abingdon police station. Here she managed a team of response Sergeants and police constables. As a response Inspector, she was responsible for the day-to-day service delivery to the public and response to spontaneous incidents, these were wide-ranging, such as, domestic disputes, violent crime, drugs, high risk missing people, complaints from the public, initial response to firearms incidents, welfare and general personnel issues and so much more. Angie retired from the police in June 2022 after 30 years' service.
Angela Murray is an excellent communicator. With a wealth of experience as a police officer, she has a wealth of experience in dealing with people from all walks of life. She is well organised and will ensure that all client cases are handled with the utmost care.

Anne Davies is a Senior Associate Solicitor & Family Team Leader for Oxford, based in our offices in Reading and Oxford. With a background in all areas of family law, Anne now specialises as an experienced child care lawyer, who deals predominantly with cases involving children. Anne often acts for parents involved in care proceedings, and also acts for Guardians and the children themselves. Recently, Anne has also become a part time District Judge.
She has experience in dealing with complex cases involving non-accidental injuries, factitious or induced illness, and serious domestic violence. Due to her experience in this area, she also advises foster carers, special guardians and potential adopters on issues that arise when children are or are to be placed in their care. In addition, Anne represents parents in disputes regarding arrangements for their children, often dealing with cases where there are complicated disputes, concerns about parental alienation, abduction and consent for medical treatment.
Anne is very approachable, and works hard for her clients, always trying to achieve a fair result. Annie works alongside highly experienced litigators and nationally recognised legal professionals, gaining valuable insights from leading experts in the field. She plays a pivotal role in case preparation, assisting Solicitors, Partners, and instructed King's Counsel on complex and serious cases. Her responsibilities include liaising with the Police, Crown Prosecution Service, and the Court, taking instructions from clients and witnesses, drafting legal documents, preparing briefs for counsel, and assisting with court hearings, ensuring thorough preparation at every stage of the defence process.

Anton Bednarek is a highly sought after accredited police station representative and leads the team of representatives from our Milton Keynes office.
Anton has over 20 years of experience working in criminal defence. Anton built up over a decade of experience assisting and representing cases before the Crown Court. This back ground enabled him to gain insight into the issues involved in the most serious and complex of cases.
Anton has been representing clients at the police station since 2012 and he has dealt with a huge range of cases including murder, sexual assault and rape, conspiracies to supply drugs, robbery, firearms offences, causing death by dangerous driving, serious assaults and large scale frauds.

Aoife Loughlin is a Caseworker, working in our Crown Court Team, based in our Bristol office. Aoife is working with tasks including case preparation, drafting statements, attending court and taking instructions from clients.
Prior to joining Reeds, Aoife graduated from university with a first-class degree in Criminology, Policing and Investigations in Birmingham. Aoife has also held volunteering positions as part of the West Midlands stop and search scrutiny panel, has undertaken work experience aimed at reducing knife crime within the West Midlands, and has submitted research for consideration regarding war crimes and insurgency threats within the Middle East.
With Aoife's nature she is a thorough communicator who takes pride in creating a rapport with client's to ensure that each client feels at ease throughout this process. Aoife handles cases with the utmost care and sensitivity and allows both client and counsel to proactively work together to ensure the smooth handling of cases.

Ayelen White is an Associate Barrister within the Private Crime team in our Leighton Buzzard branch. Ayelen read Jurisprudence at St. Catherine's College, Oxford, before going on to complete her academic legal training at BPP.
Ayelen joined Reeds in 2016. She is a highly skilled and dedicated criminal barrister with a broad practice that spans all areas of criminal law. With police station accreditation, Ayelen offers comprehensive legal support, providing seamless representation from the police station through to trials at the Crown Court, ensuring that clients receive continuous and expert guidance throughout their case.
As a hands-on advocate, Ayelen is deeply involved in every aspect of her cases, including proactive work at the investigation stage. She meticulously examines evidential disclosure and conducts detailed preparatory work, often leading to early favourable disposals by the police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Belinda Adjei is a Trainee Solicitor working as a part of our General Crime Team. She is currently based in our Luton office. There, she supports the Luton team and works closely with litigators to manage caseloads and meet client expectations.

Ben Dishot is a Associate CILEX Advocate within the Magistrates Court team, based at our Milton Keynes office. Prior to joining Reeds, Ben worked for Her Majesty's Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) for 15 years in a variety of roles, including enforcement, area management and as a Court Clerk.
His time within HMCTS has enabled Ben to acquire an exceptional understanding of the inner workings of the Court system, the procedures involved, and how the legal system operates when a case reaches Court; Ben has the ability to identify potential issues within a case before they arise. His specialist knowledge enables him to provide the team with invaluable assistance in the preparation of cases for Court, which involves conducting appointments with clients and witnesses in order to draft proofs and witness statements, whilst having in mind the types of questions likely to arise under cross-examination at trial. Ben is also proficient in identifying cases that may require expert evidence, as a result of which he has sought and instructed many experts in a wide range of matters from toxicology to DNA evidence. Ben is also an Accredited Police Station Representative and has represented many clients in a vast array of cases, ranging from the most serious.
Ben is able to identify issues quickly and be decisive in his approach, ensuring that the legal interests of the clients he represents are safeguarded at all times. His advice is clear, thorough and he is able to put clients at ease quickly as well as ensure that they fully understand the process from the very start. Beth Mantel is approachable, professional, and very popular with clients. Once a client has been represented by Beth, they will return to her each and every time they require representation. Beth has an outstanding bedside manner and her dedication to achieving the best possible result for her clients is second-to-none.
Beth Mantel is a Partner, Solicitor and Team Leader of the Northwest Complex Crime Department. Beth was the founding member in the Manchester office in 2021 which now has a strong following of clients across the Northwest area.
Beth's practice is based in the Crown Court and she deals almost exclusively in Complex Crime and is regularly instructed in multi-handed conspiracies involving Drugs, Robbery, Murder and Serious Violence. Most recently Beth has accomplished a series of acquittals involving firearms.
Beth has experience dealing with complex confiscation proceedings where she has successfully defended hidden asset applications, she understands that the ancillary matters can have more severe consequences than the original prosecution.
Beth's key quality is making clients feel comfortable but at the same time being able to analyse large quantities of material including cell site data, encrochat messages and sequence of events charts to quickly establish what the key issues are that each client must overcome to secure a good result. Given her dynamic expertise and ability, she regularly represents clients nationwide.
Brianna Parsons is a Private Crime Caseworker based in our Oxford office. She primarily works in Fare Evasion where she liaises with clients and train companies, assists with general admin tasks, and drafting representation. She also assists with other Private Crime tasks.
Prior to joining Reeds, Brianna worked as a Communicourt Intermediary. She was a communication specialist within the England and Wales court system. Her role involved assisting vulnerable defendants and respondents, in both family and criminal proceedings, throughout their trials and hearings.
Brianna was also required to carry out assessments potential service users to decipher whether they would benefit from intermediary assistance and how she could best support them. The role involved going to court and conferences with service users to help facilitate communication between them and legal professionals. Brianna would make recommendations to the court to make adjustments to allow the service user to participate and give their best evidence. Service users had a variety of needs such as ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, learning disabilities etc.
Brianna has excellent communication and organisational skills that allow her to work well with any client. It's essential to her that all clients feel supported and listened to.
