Hi! I'm Mrs.Batsel. I teach Gr.7 Language Arts. I'm also the school counsellor. You can come see me if you are having any struggles with your school work, your family, your friends, or within yourself. I'm here to help! Sometimes just having someone to vent to can make things feel a lot better. I'm married and have three children. I have a two year old daughter, a four year old son, and a seven year old daughter. It sometimes sounds like there is a whole classroom of people in my living room. Can't wait to meet you and help you settle into your new home at St.

My name is Amy Gans and I am the School Liaison Counsellor at the school. I have 3 children, a grandson and a granddaughter. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends! My favorite things to do are hiking, exploring in the mountains, kayaking and golfing. If I am not in the mountains, I will be found watching my sons play hockey, basketball and baseball. I love to laugh and joke around with students in the hallways. I look forward to seeing and meeting everyone!

Hi my name is Braydon Gordon, and I teach mostly music and band. I also enjoy teaching Social Studies and Language Arts. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys going for walks, playing outside, and just having fun. Other things that I do in my spare time are playing music, watching movies, and playing board/video games. I am also a huge fan of the Calgary Flames and will watch almost every game throughout the season.

My name is Mrs. Sheppard and teaching junior high is the best because I love the energy and humour of kids. I live on a small ranch east of Medicine Hat and have 2 kids in junior high as well. I teach math and cosmetology. My favorite past-times are riding, roping, and watching my kids play sports.

The name is Mrs. Remeikis and the game is ART! I am one of the grade 8 homeroom teachers for the Fine Arts as well as a Social Studies and Art teacher at St. Mary's school. I like drawing, walking my dog, sculpting, painting, watching movies, video games, chocolate, coffee, tea, history and reading lots and lots of books! I am originally from Ontario but moved here to the Hat and have been loving it ever since. I totally believe that anyone can better their art skills and can be coached to create and learn beautiful art. I get right in there, get messy, and give some advice, show some techniques and help you improve your knowledge and skills so you can then take what you learn and use it for your own artwork. I am thrilled and honored to be serving the community of St. Mary's School. As a former student myself of St. Mary's many, many years ago, it feels wonderful to have come full circle. Throughout my career I have enjoyed all grade levels from K - 12 as either a teacher, instructional leader, or a principal. As vice principal, I look forward to enjoying the many opportunities our students at St.Mary's have from the many options classes available to them, the Fine Arts program, sports teams, French Immersion program and the overall junior high experience.

I have been at St. Mary's since 2004-05. I am currently teaching social studies 7, religious education 7, and physical education 7 & 9. I am also the school's athletic director - GO COLTS! Prior to St. Mary's I spent five years at Chamberlain School (GO PANTHERS) in Grassy Lake where I was a junior high school teacher and the vice-principal. I also spent six months at St. Michael's School in the LAP program. When I'm not at school, I love to go for hour long walks in any type of weather. Medicine Hat has a lot of beautiful trails and other places to wander and explore! I'm also a member of the lawn bowling club and you'll find me there just about every day during the bowls season. Other interests include Postcrossing (an online postcard sending/receiving group) and Munzee.

Evan Mueller

Hello, I am Mr. Mueller, you will often find me around the Gym especially coaching Basketball or Volleyball. I spend my time following the politics of the day, reading history books or studying Spanish or French. I love to travel, camp, run long distance races and play basketball against people younger than me...while I still can. At St. Mary's I teach a grade 9 homeroom, Social Studies, Math, PE, and the World Languages option class. Come by and say 'hola' to me in room 18!

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla Lukacs and I am the drama teacher in the fine arts department here at St. Mary's School. I direct the school productions, as well as teach science and option classes. I am passionate about the arts, science, and technology which is a fun combination! When I am not onstage or backstage, I love playing with my 2 kids, my dog Darwin, and eating ice cream. Hello All! My students know me as the one and only Miss Kerr! For the past 2 1/2 years- not only have I been teaching our Dance program for our Fine Arts Academy, but I am also a grade 8 Homeroom/Humanities teacher! When I am not teaching, you can find me in the gym coaching Volleyball or Badminton; while also working on the Musical! My hobbies include aerial silks, jujitsu, and reading A LOT of books curled up by a fire in the wilderness! I have been loving every minute of my time at St. Mary's; however, my path has led me to take on another opportunity where I will be away teaching English in Thailand! The lovely Mrs. Marshall will be stepping in for me while I am away. I leave the Dance program in good hands until my return!

Shayla Marshall

Hi I'm Mrs. Marshall! I am the new dance teacher until Miss Kerr returns. I am so excited to meet the students and teach dance at my old school! That's right, I went to St. Mary's and was in the fine arts program and joined all the musicals. I danced for over 10 years and even taught dance. I competed at the rotary music festival for singing. I can't wait to bring what I've learned through these experiences into the dance program. I will also be teaching LA and Social Studies. When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy walking my a 11 year old German shepherd, hiking in the mountains, reading, and snowboarding.
